Superworms

Most reptiles, arachnids, and amphibians like their meals and snacks served up still moving, so active superworms are the perfect choice. Softer body than mealworms makes them easier to digest.

Very nice for your lizard Date: June 23, 2008
"I just bought these for my pet leopard gecko and they were VERY ACTIVE. When I put the first worm in there it kept trying to squirm out of the tweezers and it kicked alot of sand. They are also very fast and good burrowers."

SO TRUE! Date: November 27, 2007
"I agree with all the reviews I read here. It would be nice to be able to order smaller quantities and the way they are packaged is not very "user friendly". In fact, I had placed the order because I thought it would save me a trip to PetCo by them being shipped right to me but when I saw the packaging I had to go to PetCo anyway and spend another $30 to buy a container and bedding for these ugly smelly little guys.
I should have read these reviews before I made the purchase, had I known how they were shipped or realized that 500 Superworms is a huge quantity for 2 small Geckos I would have just purchased the regular small container at my local PetCo. I was just so excited I could buy these buggers online I didn't do enough research first. I guess now I know for next time.
I rated the quality fair not because the worms were dead or unsatisfactory but because the packaging is realistically very poor. They are in a box, that's it, nothing for them to burrow in, no opening to dispense them, no "lid" or container whatsoever, just a cardboard box with some egg crate in it.
So unless you have enough animals to eat up all 500 right away or a large container to put them in (with some stuff for them to burrow in) I would suggest the smaller container at the store.
The last thing (and most annoying) I have to report is that these things in this large quantity smell really bad and because it has been so cold outside I have to keep them indoors which is really pretty gross, and I will probably have to dispose of them sooner than I normally would."

Way to go! Date: July 8, 2007
"Between my Leopard Geckos, Bearded Dragon and my Jardini Arowana, I go through 1000 large kingworms & 1000 crickets a month. It is great to see that you carry these in these large amounts. Total life saver..."

Not package for long term Date: November 29, 2006
"I must say that I was really happy with Petco's decision to sell live food and in large quantities. It meant that I wouldn't have to go to the pet store all the time, and for me that was a huge plus. But I was very disappointed with what arrived at my door. I expected the worms to come package like they do when I purchase them at my local Petco, in a plastic container. However, when they arrived they came in a box. And according to the instructions that arrived with them, I am supposed to transfer them to a plastic container with "mealworm bedding." My problems with this are:

Why was I not told prior to their arrival, that I would need to get special placement for them;

Why does Petco not sell this "mealworm bedding" since it recommends it - I had to look all over for this stuff (it's not sold at any of my local pet stores);

Petco should sell these worms in a plastic container like they do the smaller quantities - I had to go out and find a container large enough to hold them and now I have to figure out a way to put holes in the lid so air can get through, since I am a woman, I don’t happen to have a drill set in my garage (unbelievable!!!).

While I applaud Petco for taking this step in providing a much needed product, I believe they have a ways to go before this item becomes something that I would purchase again or recommend to others."

Too many!! Date: May 18, 2006
"I have a sugar glider that easily eats 5 superworms a day. She loves them!! However, as much as I would love to have the worms delivered to my door without having to run to the store every couple weeks, 500 worms is just way too much for the average pet owner! No one wants 500-1000 worms crawling around in a massive catpan all the time. And then, having to fish them out?? I wish that they could be supplied in smaller potions (100 count is plenty for a few weeks). I must say though, my sugar glider does LOVE those superworms!"

"I am writing a report about your online live food products. I have a couple of frogs and turtles, and I find it very helpful buying them online, but 500-1000 crickets or superworms at once are too much! I would like to suggest you sell them in smaller quanities, too. I would more often be a customer, if you did. Thank you for your time."
