"IF the ammonia testing strips in this kit are correct, all my fish should be long dead.
Since I set up my tank and cycled it and added fish, the ammonia strips have CONSISTENTLY read over .5ppm per reading, and that's assuming that the colour on the strip (which is nothing even close to the colour scale on the bottle) is being read correctly. I have an in-tank monitor that says I have less than .02ppm, and I have used ammo-lock, but the ammonia strips continue to read incorrectly. I have kept the strips dry, followed all directions, and it supposedly expires in 2010, so I'm not sure what the problem is here.
Completely not worth the money, this thing has seriously stressed me out more than my fish.
The 5-in-1 strips work pretty great, although I sometimes have the same issues with colours not really being in the right range.
I recommend just getting the 5-in-1s separately and looking elsewhere for ammonia testing."
