"I haven't owned the bulb long enough to give a decent review, partly because the bulb broke. I was reading another review and the guy said that he had to pack the bulb up and ship it back to get a new one. I called the company and all I was asked to do was to e-mail a picture of the bulb to Zoo Med and they will send me a new one. That's all I wanted to say. I think they are a good company."

"Unfortunately I didn't check the reviews here before I bought this bulb. The center spot is very small as previously mentioned, which results in a very hot spot at that point, with little to no heating a few inches away. I use a temperature gun to check at various points and found that this did not really cover a basking area properly. Worst of all, it burned out in less than three days of 12 hour/day use. The bulb is guaranteed to last a year or 3,000 hours, but you have to pack it up and pay for shipping to send it back. No thanks - I'll go with another brand."

"It has un ungodly little hotspot in the center, which i'm sure isn't good. Right? Shouldn't it light and heat evenly? Did I get a "bad one"? I shined it on the wall accross my room, it looked like an old cheap flashlight with the lil bright spot in the center. I shined it/held it as far away from my hand as my 55 gal tank height, and in 30 seconds I reeeeally didn't like holding my hand there anymore. So I shined it on the thermometer at the highest sensor, marked 105*, it lit it up! 'Course, it was a 150w vs. 75, but the point being; from that far away I could still aim it at each individual sensor number. I didn't dare try it directly on my python, I didn't want to blind him! Basically a reptilian laser gun. To be safe, I'd have to hang it from the ceiling and use an extension cord, but Ball Pythons in a really cool, natural looking habitat aren't tacky. Extension cords hanging down a livingroom wall are. Ok, I'll stop."
