I have a chunk butt of a cat who will eat basically anything you put in front of her. lol. I had recently ordered the Wellness beef & white-meat chicken entree. She loves it.
I have two stray cats that I also feed the Selects. They are possibly the most spoiled strays I've ever seen. lol. Below is a picture of one of them :) a very sweet scruffy looking gal but loves her Selects as well :3
I know this food is a bit more costly than others, but I like the fact that the chunky versions contain no carrageenan, are all meat and grain free, and have nothing artificial like dyes. (The shredded versions do contain carrageenan so I avoid those). My cats all love this food and do well on it. Their coats are thick, soft, and glossy, and I don't find unpleasant messes in the litter boxes. I rotate between three flavors, but mostly give them the turkey/chicken flavor. It does not smell like some canned foods, and the meat never has funny looking or oddly colored chunks in it. I supplement it occasionally with the packets of Wellness Healthy Indulgence which also are grain and carrageenan free but have a small amount of veggies and fruits but not huge chunks of them like other brands. My cats and I are all happy with this food!
I recently wrote a less favorable review for the "shredded" variety of this style of Wellness cat food. My main concern was the small portion size and that the can was filled with way too much "jelly"/gravy instead of meat.
But I decided to give the "chunky" variety a try too, and this type is much better! The meat-to-gravy proportions are much better (mostly meat), and our cats absolutely love the beef + chicken flavor! I will keep buying it for sure, might try the turkey + chicken next.
I like that this Wellness food has less inappropriate ingredients than some of their other recipes (cats are strictly carnivores and should NOT be fed vegetables, grains, and fruits). Just wish they would up the portion size to the more standard 5.5oz.
