"Ok i got this cage for my first hamster Ivy she loves it but I took the upper level off beacuse it took up a lot of room. But she loves the wheel and the food and treats that came with it she didn't really like the bedding it came with she likes sepreat peices of bedding. When you take the upper level off there is sooo much more room then you can put a hut in so they have some ware to sleep and hide there food so its good. :-D"

"I bought this cage a while ago, and so far, the only animal I've had happy in it is a single male mouse. My hamster would do nothing but chew on the bars. She looked cramped, so I moved her to a bigger cage and she seems happier there. My vote is unless you get a very small dwarf hamster, get a bigger cage than this."

"i had just bought my first hamster, charlie. he is a roborovskii and is the cutiest thing ever. we bought this cage. for one it is hard to put together. it took four of us to unfold the wire top. then the directions were not clear at all. once we had set up the cage we put charlie in it. he roamed around for a little bit then started climbing up the wire top. and i thought that this was normal until he sqeezes through the wires!!!! so we catch him put him in his ball(which he loves!!!!) and my dad goes and gets a new cage. while he is gone charlie escapes three more times."

"I have enjoyed this cage. we bought it for my daughter and her 1st hamster. i do like the idea of tacking out the ramp, my hamster wont use it either and chooses to scale the wall. but over all it is a great starter kit."

"I do not like this cage. I will be going to look for a different one soon. It has little room for my gerbil to play. I dont think there is any way to attach anything either. The wheel never worked from the beginning... then he started chewing everything plastic in the cage even though he had other chew toys... most of it is ruined now. Also, within a week the chew toy that was provided with the kit fell apart."

Gets the job done, but...

"We got this kit for our daughter's first hamster -- a syrian she named Tea Pot. The construction of the cage is nice and sturdy, but taking the cage part off to clean it one or more times per week has caused pieces to break off. I found Tea Pot had difficulty with the ramp and much preferred to scale the cage walls instead. Since the ramp took up so much room, we actually broke it off (making sure the edge was smooth). This arrangement works much better and gave us room to give Tea Pot a little house. She uses the wheel, but it is not perfectly silent. It doesn't bother us though.
My biggest issue with this kit is that it is really not large enough to keep a syrian hamster happy. Tea Pot is not super large, but not little either, and seems a little cramped in there after only a few weeks. Good starter kit for dwarfs, but if you have a bigger hamster this one won't last too long."

"I recently purchased this Home for our 1st and new Hamster, Cheddar. Right now it seems like the ideal home for her. I'm not sure if it will have enough room as she gets older and bigger. Also, I'm not sure I can add tubes to tihs cage so she can get some exercise and interaction...can I? She hasn't used the wheel as of yet and had trouble climbing the ramp. She crawled up via the wire. Right now it's perfect since she's new and little but not sure it will be teh right fit for her as time goes by."

"I just got a new rat about 7 days ago. I was planning on putting it in a cage with my rat i had before, which is a blue rat. They didn’t get along so great, so I got this to put my new rat in while I wasn’t there to watch them. It’s great for a short term use for small rats. It comes will everything you’ll need. A water bottle, bowl, wheel, food, a small amount of bedding that is enough for about one use, and a second story. I would say this is a great product."
