I prefer to feed my lot grain-free food and was happy to find this brand. Cats enjoyed it too. Then I saw a review claiming they now add cellulose. I wonder how bad can grains be compared to sawdust! Please check ingredient list for yourself. Will not purchase again until cellulose is removed.
I have been feeding my two Cats Purrfect Bistro for years. They love all the flavors minus the Healthy Weight formula. Sadly, this one flavor they stick their noses up too which is especially odd for one of my cats who thinks everything taste delicious including the dog food. The food itself has grainy/grit crumbs all over it as if someone had jumped on the bag. Thinking that was the case I got a replacement and the same issue. Waited a couple months and tried again, same issue. Great Brand, but I think the Healthy Weight Formula could use a little fixing to make the food less grainy and more palatable for cats.
We switched all our animals to grain free foods and decided to try the Merrick Healthy Weight to add another flavor / texture to what we have been feeding the cats. Our cats really like the Merrick. This is our second purchase of this particular food brand and formula. We are very pleased with the food as are the cats. We will definitely continue to buy it.
My cats do love this food. But I have noticed that there are lots of crumbs were food is breaking up(at the bottom of the bag) or I'm finding large clumps of food were food is sticking together and forming pieces that are way too large for my cats to chew. I don't want to change my food but with 4 cats I hate having the waste as well!!
My cat will eat most things but lately she's been really fussy over her food. I'm not sure if it's because she gets really full from this food or because she doesn't like it, but I noticed a marked difference when I started serving this food. Previously, she would gobble her dry food up in a few minutes of me serving it, now she picks at it and a full 12 hours later some is left. While it might be a great food for other cats, my cat really doesn't like it and only eats it when she's really hungry. I guess this is conducive to weight loss, but she's more annoying b/c she keeps asking for food, even when it's in her bowl.
