After a lot of stress, I am so happy to have found this product. My 1 year old Bengal cat HATES seafood and the vet believes he has a food sensitivity to chicken. He has been on chicken food his whole first year until he began developing hives. Trying to find a hypo-allergenic cat food that has neither chicken or any type of seafood has been very difficult. At first he didn't want to eat this. We had a hunger strike situation going on. Eventually I forced him to eat a few pieces and after that it was game on. He loves it and comes running as soon as he hears me near his bowl. He begs for more every time, and his hives have cleared up and he has re-gained the weight he lost going through his food problems. Yes, it is a little more expensive than the other premium food I was giving him, but it's worth it for him to be healthy. His coat looks wonderful, his weight is back up, and his hives are gone.
This food is great for my kitties' needs. One of my kitties has gastrointestinal lymphoma and trying to find a food that met all the veterinarian's recommendations AND that he likes was tough but this food fit ALL the criteria so it's been great to have. And it's a great food for my other kitty who isn't sick. Thanls!!
My cat a a very sensitive stomach. The vet suggested a wet Rabbit prescription food. He use to throw up daily. It was over a month with no issues. I was leaving town for 5 days so the vet suggested this food as a substitute and the cats loved it. The sensitive stomach cat ate it and loved it and the over weight cat also ate it and continued to loose weight. Love this for trips.
My cat is allergic to chicken, so the doctor suggested either a fish/potato food or a rabbit-based food. The fish/potato brand gave my kitty diarrhea, even though it helped her allergies. After trying this brand, it appears that she is also allergic to rabbit-based food. To make matters worse, this food makes her stool smell awful, so much so that we have to scoop it immediately so we don't get sick. It is as if an entire squad of football players have entered my bathroom after she uses the litter box. This may be good for allergies, but be warned that the cat's poo may smelly really terrible.
I bought this food for one of my cats who suffers from severe food allergies. She would not even touch this food. I'm pretty sure she'd have to be absolutely starving, and perhaps not even then. My middle cat, who will eat just about anything, also refused to touch this food. She took a couple bites of the canned version, but ultimately left mostly untouched as well. An expensive lesson learned.
