I love the "no grain" aspect of this food. Since cats are not really grain eaters and are carnivores why would they thrive on something that doesn't have meat or fish as a first ingredient! I owe it them to give them something actually good for them and this is it.
I have an 11 year old male and a 3 year old female. My male loves only Purina brand or Iams dry food and completely refused no grain brands such as Blue, and Hills. My 3 year old was adopted earlier this year from a rescue and we continued to feed her the a no grain holistic brand, so I was buying two separate foods for almost a year. The no grain formula was recently discontinued so I have been looking high and low for a replacement. It was not easy, she didn't like blue brands either. I decided to try Natures Recipe since it was on sale. To my surprise not only does the 3 year old love it, I watched my 11 year old walk pass his regular food and ate this no grain! I have never seen this before, the both love it. Looks like we found our compromise.
My cat gets 1/4 cup of kibble to go with her 3oz can of wet food and I've had such a hard time finding one that she actually enjoys and goes to it. This one I've even seen her eat it when the wet food is right next to her. We're in our 3rd bag and it looks like we finally found a winner!
I had to find another grain-free cat food since the one I was feeding my cat that was not kibble sized and that he loved was discontinued. After trying many other brands, I finally found this one and my cat loves it. Another family member's 3 cats also loved it when my family member was watching my cat while on vacation. All 3 of their cats started only eating this food instead of the one they had been eating.
I trust this brand for high-quality food at a sensible price. My cat loves both the dry and wet foods from this brand. I finally got to try this new grain-free variety on him when he finished his previous bag of 'active adult', which is no longer carried at my local Petco. I think he likes this one even better, and it has a higher protein content. He actually started eating this in lieu of his wet food, and he is a fiend for gravy-full canned food! I will definitely continue to purchase this kibble.
