Awesome filter!
Date: October 10, 2007
"I've had troubles in the past with submersible filters. I have been using this in-tank filter with my mini bow 2.5 gallon tank. Fits perfectly on the hood and it's very quiet! Gets the job done! Plus the filter replacement pads are almost always on the shelves at Petco stores.
By the way, my bettas like the filter too..."

Great Filter, Great Price
Date: August 9, 2007
"After doing research on this website for a good small aquarium filter, I decided to try this one. I am so pleased with it. I have a 2.5 gal aquarium with one Platy and one Dwarf African Frog. The Platy is a pig, always pooping probably because I inadvertently overfeed. He's always stealing the frog's food!
The Nano filter is super quiet, you really can't hear it at all when you have the water flow set to low. It keeps the water crystal clear for at least a week and a half and then I do a partial water change. That usually produces a cloud of stuff that the vacuum didn't get up but within an hour or so with the filter running on high - the water is clear again.
I would highly recommend this filter for people with small aquariums. If it weren't for the Platy that makes a lot of waste, I'm sure I wouldn't have to do water changes as often. The replacement pads are very reasonably priced as well. Great investment!

Very pleased
Date: July 22, 2007
"I purchased this filter for my 1.5 gallon tank that I am currently cycling. I am planning on getting a pair of dwarf frogs once the tank has been cycled. I have had the filter for about 3 weeks now and it is great. It is virtually silent and all you can really hear is the relaxing sound of water being poured from the filter into the tank. It wont disturb you if it is in your room."

Great desktop filter!
Date: June 24, 2007
"I also have the 2.5 gal mini bow desktop aquarium.... mine houses an all-aquatic frog. I could not use the filter included with the tank because the frog requires a sand substrate and it just clogged up the filter... then I switched to a simple sponge filter supplied by the company that breeds the frogs, but these frogs produce so much waste, I was cleaning the tank more than once a week! Obviously, that's not good for the animal, but the water was so dirty and it smelled bad. So I went over to Petco and picked up this little filter and it has worked miracles!! Her tank is now incredibly clean - she's no longer swimming around in her own waste, molted skin, uneaten food or unfertilized eggs anymore! I like the adjustable water flow and the clear casing. I agree that the directions were a little lacking, but the pictures on the box make it easy enough to figure out... So glad I found this filter - and so is my frog!"

Best Small Tank Filter Ever!
Date: June 5, 2007
"I bought the 2.5 gallon mini bow aquarium and really didn't like the Whisper filter that came with it, so instead I bought this filter, and it's a lifesaver! It fits perfectly and I'm so happy because it's adjustable so instead of making my bettas tank have tsunami strong waves, now he can have the perfect amount of water flow. It's so small and yet so compact and powerful! Although there is a lack of directions, if you use a little thought it's easy to put together! Me and my betta Prince thank Red Sea Deco Art for making such a great little filter!"

Excellent!!!
Date: April 22, 2007
"About 4 months ago we bought a 2.5 gallon tank kit. The tank came with a in tank whisper filter that wasn't doing a good job filtering the water (the water was loaded with debri). Just a week ago I received the Red Sea Deco Art Nano Filter and hooked it up. Within 2 hours the water was crystal clear. The only fish in the tank is a male Betta. He had a case of fin rot due to water quality and the very next tank his fins started looking better. I HIGHLY recommend this product."

"I've had this filter for a few weeks now and it really is incredible. It's so cheap and yet it keeps my 2.5 gallon tank crystal clear. I have a betta and he has no problems around it; it doesn't seem to be too strong for him at all. The only problem, I would say, is the lack of any directions except for a few lines on the outside of the box, but other than that it's great!"

Attractive, effective and quiet!
Date: September 4, 2006
"I got this home and braced myself for disappointment, I didn't think such a small, attractive filter could be so quiet and effective! Why don't they make all filter units transparent like this one?! I'm using it with an approx. 1.75-gallon tank with three small goldfish. The motor is very quiet and it also doesn't make too much splashing. Before I'd had an under-gravel filter that, in retrospect, was totally ineffective. Buy this instead!"

Red Sea Deco Art Nano Filter
Date: August 27, 2006
"Earlier
I had returned the Penn Plax Small World Filter. I have a small 2.5
gallon aquarium in my room and it was just too noisy for me. I ended up
getting the Red Sea Deco Art Nano Filter. I love it. So quiet and
small, perfect for my little fish tank. Definitely recommend this
product.

Does the job, elegantly even.
Date: August 20, 2006
"This is the only filter I have used so far, so I do not have much to compare to but I am very happy with it's performance thus far.
It is small, attractive, and unobstrusive and can be very quiet. Does a good job in keeping my 2.5 gallon divided aquarium clean. The adjustable flow could have been a little more adjustable (my betta in the half of the tank with the filter thought it was a little too fast) but the natural slowing that happens for filters and plants fixed that problem. Still, I would say that this filter is a bit too fast for a 1 gallon betta bowl.
The filter impeller can be very quiet, but occasionally will develop an irritating rattle. Power cycling the filter several times cleared that problem up. This only seems to develop though if the filter is left off for a short length of time.
Cycling was accomplished without a hitch and I haven't seen any spikes in ammonia when I've changed one of the filter pads. A definite plus. =)
All in all, a cute little filter that actually does what it's supposed to do! I would definitely recommend it."

This Is Great for Bettas!!!<><<<<<
Date: January 19, 2006
"I have a 2.5 gallon mini bow aquarium with one Male Betta in it. I always thought the water was clear, until I used this filter. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I cant really say much about maintenance on the impellor or siphon tube because I have only had it for 2 days. I have had to change the cartridge earlier today because my water was so bad from where my other filter wasn't doing that job that I thought it was. The cartridges are very cheap and are very easy to change!!! In my closing remarks : BUY THIS FILTER!!!!!<><<<<<<"

best for a betta bowl
Date: December 22, 2005
"and betta bowl that's at least 1 gal. will work on this and even smaller. it's really quiet and awesome. i turn it off so my bettas can catch the food and my oldest betta plays with the suction, but since it doesn't damage his fins i'm fine with it. I have six of these babies one for each 1-2 mini aquarium that I have and it's perfect."

Solved my issue!
Date: November 28, 2005
"I have two betta tanks (2.5 gallons), I keep two males in each tank with a divider. I had noticed that using the undergravel filtration system was not fit to keep my tank as clean as I wanted it to be. I went down to my local Petco and picked up two of these filters, one for each tank, and set my tanks up with them instead of the gravel system. I have been very satisfied with the performance and the quality of these filters. My only issue was the lack of dirrections inside the box, but after a few minutes of thinking, I was all set. I am thinking of buying two more betta fish and buying this filter for them!"
