I put this in my juvenile red eared slider's tank and it's super cute but he doesn't like to get on it because it sinks right away.

disappointing for use with turtles

I was excited to try out this item in my home aquarium. I currently house 2 aquatic turtles, one small, one medium-sized.
-- The rock did not keep the pad stable
-- The "basking" area sinks right away when even the small turtle attempts to climb on it
-- with the attached tubing it is not attractive enough for general decoration
Overall this product needs to be taken back to the drawing board.

Great product for smaller aquatic animals!!

I bought this lily pad for my 2 juvenile fire bellied newts as a land segment, and also so they could hide underneath it. They don't go on top of it too much, once they get bigger (4"-6") then we'll see if it holds their weight. However, it still works as a great hiding place, especially if you put some type of plants/decor underneath. My newts hide under this more than their actual home/hut now! I don't know how well this would do with a juvenile turtle (as pictured on the box), let alone a grown turtle. It would be more of decor at that point so your turtle could hide under it. It would probably look good in a paludarium with fish too!
I would recommend this to a friend!

My turtle can easily get onto the "lily pad", but don't expect it to stay above water when your turtle gets on it. It's more of a decoration, instead of a basking platform.
I would recommend this to a friend!
