I'm not sure about this product

I'm really torn as to how to rate this cat food. I bought it based on the label (Royal Canin--which I've always had good luck with) and the claim that it would control the appetite of spayed/neutered cats (I have one of each). Well, my cats absolutely love it, but it hasn't done much to satisfy their constant hungriness. Then I noticed that the fist ingredients are corn/cornmeal. I don't know of an animal alive that can fully digest corn (myself included!). And I don't know where folk get the idea that cats need grain and vegetables in their diets. They're carnivores, not omnivores, right? At this point I'm not sure I'd purchase this product again. (... and I had such high hopes for it!)

Will not purchase again

I purchased this product based on recommendations of a friend who had great results. My cat is overweight and has been so since I got her fixed. I was trying to purchase food that would keep her full longer and help her lose weight. However, I was very disappointed that the main ingredient in this product is corn, which cats cannot digest. The other most alarming issue is that most of the corn used in this cat food is genetically modified corn. In good conscience I cannot feed her this because I know will eventually make her very ill and has no nutritional benefit for her. I will keep searching for something holistic that will help her get to her ideal weight. I hope that other people do not make the same mistake I did. Thanks!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
