Wonderful cat carrier
PostedJanuary 25, 2014
I purchased one of these a few years ago and many people liked it...including the vets and the techs at the animal hospital I take my pets to for care. My daughter recently took the carrier to NH with her. So I purchased another one. What I like the best about it is that the clasp opens very easily...instead of the carriers that have a pitch-style opening. The new one snapped together easily (my 24 year old son put it easily together). So I would Highly recommended this carrier to anyone that finds the pitch-style door openers a challenge.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I so wanted to like this crate. Top loading feature attracted me. Large front opening is wonderful. But I was disappointed in the quality of the product. Had to be careful when you put it together, and I would never use it for airline travel. I used it for a trip to the vet today, first use. When I got it home I went to clean it out, not realizing the front door was not attached to the frame. The door just slides on to the hinge. The door fell off and the corner broke off. It's still useable, but it's not worth the money and I could not recommend this to anyone. I will continue my search for a good top loading crate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really liked the design of this carrier and chose it over one I was specifically looking for. When I got it, I was disappointed with the plastic it was made of. It seemed cheap for its price. I put it together okay, but didn't think it was very secure. When I had it all together with the front door shut, I could pry the front part off with little effort. Also, when the front door is open, it can come completely off the hinges. There is nothing to stop it from sliding right off. My worst nightmare would be traveling with my cat in this and in the course of opening the door it would come off and the cat would escape. I took it back tonight and had an associate at the store check how I had it together. He struggled with it too. Oh, and the plastic hinge/clip pieces also seem cheap and like they could break easily. So, I really loved how this was designed but the construction seems cheap and I would not trust it with my cat. Especially since it is supposed to meet airline standards. I would have a heart attack if my cat was shipped in this. Just not sturdy enough. I will be buying the kind I originally set out to find.
