IF YOU USE THIS PRODUCT CONSISTANTLY AND RESPONSIBLY IT WILL HELP TRAIN YOUR DOG... THIS PRODUCT HAS SAVED MY DOG MANY TIMES WE SHE RUNS OUT THE FRONT DOOR INTO THE STREET. I SHOUT HER NAME AND PRESS THE COMMAND BUTTON. SHE TURNS AROUND IMMEDIATELY AND COMES BACK INTO THE HOUSE. SOME PEOPLE MAY THINK THIS IS A HARSH OR MEAN WAY TO TRAIN YOUR DOG. IT WOULD BE A LOT WORSE TO BE HIT BY A CAR....

The collar was way to big for my chihuahua! I thought it was for "little" dogs. I returned it to the store and my money was refunded. I would not recommend this collar to a person that ownes a smaller breed.

Saved Dog from "Incarceration"
PostedOctober 20, 2012
This product saved a pound pooch. We adopted a 2 year old schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle) from a shelter. He is smart, learns tricks and basic commands quickly (with treats), but he will ignore you when he doesn't feel like obeying. His biggest issue was diving out the door any time it was opened, and when he got outside, he would run off and not return until he was finished exploring (even when called). It only took a few "stimulations" to teach him to come back when called. It has also been useful in training our "cat-dog" to stay off tables. The unit has 15 intensity settings, and we normally only have to set it on 2 or 3 (when dealing with the outside run off problem, we had to turn it up to 7 one time.) Contrary to the product directions, we use the tone feature as a warning prior to "stimulation" as we also have an electronic fence for him that uses a tone to warn him to stay in the boundaries. Therefore, trying to use the tone on the training collar as positive reinforcement would have confused him. After only 2 weeks, 99% of the time, all we have to do anytime he is disobeying in anyway is give the warning tone. He has also learned not to wander too far from me when he is off the leash. He weighs 14 lbs and has a neck circumference of 10 inches. The collar fit fine after adjusting it and cutting off the excess. The receiver is also one of the smallest of all the brands/models we looked at. Our dog has also tested the waterproof feature, as he took a dive in a swamp yesterday. So far, the unit is still functioning. The unit does have to be charged daily, even with limited use.

This product works ok

This product works ok for my needs. It has to be charged every day unlike another brand I had before that could be charged only every 4 days. It is hard to turn on and off - that is until the button fell out and now I have to use the point of a pencil to turn it on and off. As far as being able to keep my dog inside of our wooded yard, it is quite effective. It seems to be comfortable for her and she responds to it well.
