bought it to treat parasites. Went through two packages of this brand and no effect. My fish died in the end. When life depends on it, i would go elsewhere the next time.

Helped with anchor worm

from San Diego, CA
I had two new goldfish in my tank when I noticed one had an anchor worm infestation -- three worms developed in less than a week. I started using Lifeguard to treat my tank in combination with API Aquarium Salt.
The Lifeguard treatment did the trick; within 5 days, the worms were dead. One fell off on its own, and I tweezed the other two just because they had gotten so big that they were hindering my fish's fins.
My infected fish healed rapidly and never developed any secondary infections, and my second fish never showed any signs of anchor worm. This is a great, easy-to-use product that I plan on keeping on-hand if any other parasites or infections hit my tank.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Did Not Work Well!!

I Bought this product for my 3 fish I have that where starting to show signs of ick a.k.a white spots. It did not START to help them in tell the fifth day when you are supposes to stop the treatment. Also before it started working my fish got way worse and are still fighting this fungus. It also made my water vary cloudy and the plants look nasty.
