I actually like this piece of kitty furniture. I'm not sure if my cat is unsure about what to do with it or if its the smell but she hasn't laid in it yet. It comes out of the box with a strong smell, and I'm not sure how long it'll take to completely go away. On the plus side, it is very easy to set up and will be very easy to fold back up in case you need to store it away or move it. My cat does like to jump up on it and lay on the top (which is nicely cushioned for kitties), so that's a good sign. So far, my cat hasn't tried to scratch it up and there's no holes or tearing. She uses her scratching post for that. As for the other reviewer of this product, please do not take their full review into account when deciding to buy this product. Who in their right mind would try to sit on CAT FURNITURE??? It is made for CATS. It is not sturdy enough to hold the weight of a person because it was built to hold a cat. The term ottoman in the title is used to describe what it looks like.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good as one, Below Fair As Another

The first warning sign was that this came in a flat box instead of a cube. Of course, this is because the ottoman is collapsible, which can be a good or bad thing. On the plus side, being collapsible makes it easy to store or transport. The downside is that apart from being a fairly adequate (only fairly for reasons I'll get to) cat condo, it fails as supplemental seating. It's sturdy enough and didn't feel wobbly, but the cushion up top was extremely thin and not very comfortable for any length of time. What's more, unlike other ottomans like this, the lid doesn't flip over to reveal a cat bed, which can be a bit of a problem if you've multiple cats who might otherwise try to share the real estate. Lastly, while the leather sounds nice and looks the part, the fact is it's going to attract claw marks and soon be riddled with tiny little holes that fabric or other such material would easily hide. So, if you're looking for a little cubby hole for your kitty, it's adequate provided you've only got one (otherwise, get two ottomans), but as a seating solution, it leaves much to be desired that other models available here provide in spades.
