I was happy with this scratch board initially, because it is wider than most, and my cats didn't accidentally scratch the carpet instead. Unfortunately, the scratch pad material quickly came unglued (or unstitched) from the side and now is rapidly deteriorating since it comes up as the cats scratch on it. The board is a cute shape, but unless I can glue down better scratch material on the base, I guess I'll be tossing it...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After putting this product together and sprinkling on the catnip myself, I laid it out for my cat. He went up to it sniffed it, walked around it sniffing it some more. Then shakes his head and walked away from it. I tried getting him to interact with it by spinning the wheel and he had no interest. I tried getting him to scratch it, by placing his paws on it and running his paw down it. Still doesn't like it and now won't touch it. Oh and mine came without a bell in the tail like the package explained it has in it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can you believe ... I had not even noticed the adorable kitty shape until it arrived at my home! My girl likes using the scratching board, and also sometimes likes to just sit on it. I am disappointed she does not use the ROLL -- which was my main reason for buying .... in hopes she would like that rather than toilet paper on-the-roll. LOL!

I have 3 cats, largest is a 19 lb. Tomcat. He has torn this scratcher apart. The rolling wheel was off within a week. Nice design, love the flat surface for easier scratching. My other 2 female cats were happy with it. But Big Jethro Tom has ruined it. So if you have smaller less aggressive cats this would be fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!
