I recommend this product to anyone who is concerned how their new furry friend will react to being put in a cage. our pal Charlie is now good with being placed in his carrier because of the top door. I also have placed a petco small round bed in it with the house scents so he feels more secure. very pleased I bought this. my cat is around 13-16mos and around 11lbs so I bought the larger one thinking he will grow bigger. wasn't necessary. could have gone with the smaller one. lots of room.

We got this to bring home a rescue cat from the Humane Society. We wanted something that would fit a standard seat belt around it, work as a cat bed at home, and most importantly would be escape-proof on the freeway.
The vet tech and vet shook their heads when they offered us a cardboard box since the cat we chose is an escape artist. I brought in the carrier and they both said "Excellent." They were right, thus the rating. Towel inside, blanket over the outside, belted it in the backseat. Cat went to sleep. Couple of yowls on speed bumps, but when clawing at the sides didn't work kitty gave up and went back to sleep.
When you put this together, the holes to attach the door hinge are up inside two recessed areas, not the large holes you think they would go into.
Takes a bit of putting together, don't expect to juggle the cat while putting it together the first time; there are multiple bolts and nuts to screw in to set it up. After that the top door and side door are both one-hand operations. Shake the door to make sure the pins caught to latch it, and kitty is safe inside.

Kitty is home safely and didn't get to do the crazy zoom-cat across the dash thing. Vet liked that there's a top opening, too. We got a second for the second cat so they can use them as beds at home. Really like this product.

My kitties love their new carriers, I keep them in the house open for them to go in and out of and take ownership and it makes it easier to get them ready for the vet or nail clips. Love these carriers worth every the money

we have a large cat 17.5 lbs our old carrier was very cramped for him.With this carrier it was easier to get him in at home and out at the vet. could use the top or side door. made for an easier visit to the vet. was easy to put together and sturdy

It's built sturdy and is attractive and comes in nice colors. My favorite thing is the top-loading door which makes it much easier to load our kittie into it, plus kittie can see out the top and see her parents are there. You can console her if necessary more conveniently through the top gate (even when she's in the car). Got this great deal on-line when it was on sale! My cat seemed very protected in the carrier and she didn't seem to mind being in it.

As the owner of a skittish formerly homeless cat, I needed a case in which I can lure my kitty when she needs a trip to the vet. I routinely feed my cat in this case and when needed, can just close the door on her. It is very convenient to have the top opening for cleaning and for placing the dish of food inside.

The top-loading door makes trips to the vet less traumatic for my cats. One in particular doesn't want anything to do with an sort of carrier, but this one works well when its needed.

I have a cat who goes bonkers when you try to put her in a carrier. And then once she's in the carrier she obsessively looks for weaknesses in her transport case and tried to escape. So soft-sided carriers were definitely not an option, and front loading carriers were a nightmare to coax her into. With this carrier, I can just open the top door and plop her inside before she has time to struggle. Plus, the hard sides and sturdy construction make her attempts at escape futile. It makes for a much safer trip to the vet.

i use this carrier for my 3 pound rabbit. He travels in the car with me to our magic shows (yes, he is a performer) and the carrier provides a comfortable, secure place for him. The top loading door is handy--it is much easier to remove the bunny (or kitty) from the top. I also like the fact that you can open the door with one hand. The carrier is simple to assemble and is well-designed.

This is a practical pet kennel. What is great about it is the top loading door. So much easier to get a pet in via a top load rather than a door on the side (but if your pet likes that option this kennel carrier has that too!)
Overall, great value.

I got this kennel as a cat carrier. At first I thought I would be disappointed that I got the larger size then decided it would be great for my cat to either lay or stand in comfort. Very sturdy craftmanship. Easy to assemble; no tools required. Load from the end or from above. Great purchase! Worth the money.

I purchased this carrier in the Large size. It's a very nice size for my cat to lay down comfortably. I leave the carrier out with the door open and one of my cats actually sleeps in it at night. The top door is also very useful for vet trips. It is much easier to remove the cat from and place it in the carrier through the top. Great product.

I ordered four top-loading kennels for our cats. I want to make sure that, in the event of an emergency, we have enough kennels of the right size to easily and quickly contain our cats for their safety and/or transport. Another reason? We have a scaredy cat who practically shredded me the last time I tried to get her in a front-loading cage to go to the vet. This will be much less scary - for her and me!

For all those kitties who are fearful of being put into a carrier, the top opening is wonderful! I have two of these, and plan on adding one or two more for our clowder.
One caveat - periodically check the wing nuts, as they can work loose. Because they are plastic, you can't 'sock them down' like metal wing nuts. A minor issue, really, but just beware. Overall, love these!

I am very happy with this pet carrier. After reading reviews for other carriers, I was hesitant on which carrier to purchase. I even read a post that stated a cat was able to roll its carrier across the floor! I have a large cat and I like the fact that this carrier allows me to put him in from the top. He is able to move around and see out the sides. I plan on purchasing at least a couple more of this carrier for my other two cats and small dog.

We are breeders of Ragdoll Kittens. With frequent visits to our Vet, we have found that the top door on this carrier is perfect. We use it for our kittens as well as our Moms. It has a very easy to open latch and a nice size opening. We liked it so well that we have purchased three more!

I belong to 2 large Maine Coon cats. This carrier gives them plenty of room. I like the fact that the top is secured to the bottom with several screws. They even included extra screws and fasteners. No more snap together carriers accidentally coming apart. The wire top provides additional ventilation and makes it easier to remove a reluctant cat when at the vet. I have the large size and could fit both of them in there in case of an emergency (of course, with 30 lbs of cat inside I would not carry it by the handle).

No Petco in LufKin Texas, and wanted a pet carrier for my cat that would open from the top, so i had to order though Petco internet sales( because no one had one in my city) and i couldn't be happier.
