Perfect bed for a picky dog

We have struggled to find a new dog bed for our 12 year old Lab that would give her a bit more cush and support. We've spent a lot of money on other beds that she would not even touch (well, except to kick the heck out of them, but not sleep on them). When we saw this bed, we decided to give it a try. She loved it from the minute we put it on the floor. After a week of hauling the bed upstairs and downstairs, we ordered another one with the same positive results. She couldn't be happier -- and we are too.

Dog loved it & has staked it out as her own: fending off cats, pushy little dog and a teenage boy who she feared had designs on it. Sneaking onto the sofa is now a thing of the past.

Item described as memory foam. The photo shows a banner indicating it is memory foam. In reality, it is chunks of memory foam. The REAL banner that comes on the product says "Chipped Memory Foam" unlike what you see in the picture. The bed is also not 5" tall. Might as well just lie on the floor. Both of my dogs prefer their old beat up egg crate beds. SO disappointed. My fist and last online purchase from this store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this memory foam bed for my hound-shar pei mix and she loves it! The top of the bed is very plush and soft and the memory foam is quite comfortable. The only "down side" is that the foam is not an actual slab, but cut up chunks. However, would recommend for sure.

This memory foam bed is fantastic. I actually got 2 of them and lined them up in front of the dining room picture window where the 2 whippets like to lounge in the sun. These are so supportive and so comfortable that I can imagine taking a nap on them myself! They are heavy enough that the dogs can't drag them around in playing, which is what I had hoped. Highly recommended.

Just what I needed

I first bought a orthopedic matt from Petco.com for my 65lb Weimaraner and it fell apart in less than two weeks. It was not a matter of the dog being too hard on it. It just wasn't made well. I took it to my local Petco and the manager was very accommodating and gave me full credit for it. I bought this matt which is much better made. It has the same basic type top as the other one but the bottom is made of corduroy and it weighs quite a bit (probably 15lbs). My dog loves it. If it lasts I will likely buy one more for the floor next to my TV chair which is where he likes to be but the floor is too hard. Petco is great about being able to return things with no hassles. I will revisit this in a month or two to record how well it holds up.
