In today's market place it is very hard to find something that is made sturdy and worth the money, this product certainly is. I loved the fact that I could get an additional piece of gate to attach making it to fit perfectly in my larger door opening

This gate works well and as needed. It was easy to install. The locking mechanism is a bit hard to get used to but once you do it's fairly easy to operate, although it usually takes both hands to open...one to depress a red button and the other to pull back the handle. There is a magnetic piece at the bottom that may not be necessary...instead it just requires you to push/pull the gate a little harder to disengage. This gate is difficult for young children to unlock. Once our kids (ages 8 and 10) got used to it, they could work it...but we generally just don't close the gate all the way. (Especially if we need to go through it with our hands full) Our dog (Lab/Pitt mix) cannot "pull" the gate open, so it still works for the purpse of keeping him in our family room. We are very satisfied with the gate, well made and a good price.

I have to keep my dog out of my small inhome workshop. Walking in and out so often like me, it is a pleasure to know the gate will lock when I walk trough the door. My little buddie will not have the chance to enter my workshop and get hirt,..... or distroy my projects!
The gate was easy to be installed and works perfect. Good buy. Thank you cardinal gates

My sister had to do lots of fixing--the gate would not close and when it did, it stayed locked! She had to remove the handle, the spring, the red button and put a different screw and nut to replace the handle, so now there is no pressing of any button. It's useable now, but would have liked it working from day one! I'm using it now and is better than what I had. The cost was too high for such a cheaply made gate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
