Great for taking my Yorkie with me. Date: May 17, 2006
"I purchased this so I could take my Yorkie with me and not have to leave him in the car. When he is in it no one can really see that I have a dog in there until they are right up to it which helps when going into a store. The make up of the product is overall great except that I think the straps should be a little better secured to hold the 10 lb. weight on an everyday basis as a backpack. I am afraid of large dogs (of which there are many in my neighborhood) and when I walk my dog and he is inside the carrier they don't even know he is in there and don't bother me. Very versitile and easy to use in any of its featured states. My dog does not use it as a bed though. Sleeps outside of it."

Vegas Baby! Date: April 21, 2008
"Turned out I had to take my recovering pet (on medication so I did not want to leave with sitter) to Vegas and I purchased this bag last minute. It worked out great. My Chi went into the Bellagio and various other places on the Strip and I think he rather enjoyed the trip. I'm a little on the heavy side so the wheels dug into my "love-handles" a little. Also, the straps could use a little more padding overall. Overall design is good but I'm seriously considering taking the pack to a seamstress to have extra padding added."

Just what I had in mind Date: March 14, 2008
"I live in an apartment complex, I see folks walking their dogs and wondered how I can take my 4 month old kitten Evie, out for a walk without having to play fight the collar or harness and attack the leash. (Which is still a battle.)
I did some searching on the internet, thinking someone has to have come up with something like a backpack for small dogs or cats. Sure enough, here it was.
Evie and I have been on several walks, although I do most of the walking she is tired by riding around. Folks around the apartment love the idea of a backpack, and we can meet our neighbors with dogs without having a cat and dog fight on our hands.
Evie gives the backpack part 5 paws, the rolling part 1 paw as she was not found of rolling along. But, she might get use to it if she gets heavier than 15 pounds. :)"

Cat loves it Date: September 22, 2007
"My fussy siamese is tall and thin. Finding a carrier she can sit comfortably in has been hard. I heard about this one from a friend, ordered it immediately, and left for the weekend. When I got in a day later, it was on my doorstep. I opened it up, sat it on the floor and it was full of cats immediately. I walked each one around the block past dogs and they did OK. Now they fight to sit in the "magic box" that gives freedom and lets them see the neighborhood in safety.

The carrier has three black mesh sides, so the cat or dog can see a nice view. My cat is an excape artist so I will add a velcro tab over the zipper for extra security. The side pockets hold supplies and the adjustible shoulder straps are very comfortable. Very light, strong, and well thought out design.

I'm so happy with it, I may get one for my daughter's small dog. Great for a bike trip too. It has wheels for rolling but concrete may wear them down fast."

Close but not quite what I wanted Date: November 28, 2006
"I was really hoping for a wheeled carrier that would transport two cats at one time. My cats are both 13 pounds and I can't carry them both at the same time. Trying to dump them both into the large carrier prompted quite a bit of hissing. I wish the dimensions were a little different -- shorter and wider. Laying down they both might fit in there but once standed for wheeling, they'd be on top of each other. Even having two sections and a divider would be great! (Now I just need to find someone to create one)

Now, I end up wheeling one cat and carrying the second in a carrier, when we go to the vet. I wonder how other people transport two cats easily?!?"

Hikin' & Bikin' with our Cat Date: October 11, 2006
"Most folks have covered the good and bad about this product for car/air travel so I will focus on the backpack option.

Our cat is still small but we have used it since he was 4 months old. He has always loved the product(small) and now over 7 pounds is still comfortable in it. This product has allowed us to hike and train him on the trail. We just pop him in when dogs are around, he gets fatigued or we want to make better time on the trail.

Our cat enjoys the 3 mesh sides to see out and smell what's going on while we continue hiking or biking. Although the legs for stabilizing it as a car seat come off to reduce the weight of the carrier as a backpack, we usually leave them on to be able to stand the carrier on a bench or table when taking a break.

The option of the top or bottom flap opening is very nice. Although transitioning the position of the carrier from upright to reclining can be awkward for the cat when he is inside, we use both positions frequently. Open and reclined, it allows our cat to get used to an area with a single flap open. Opening the top flap while being worn as a backpack (hiking only, never biking!) allows our cat to ride inside and transition to a shoulder for good views.

If I had to change anything about the product, I would make the zipper closures the kind you can add a lock to. This would allow peace of mind as I am biking along and wondering if he might magically find a way to unzip it from the inside."

PURRRFECT CARRIERS Date: October 1, 2006
"Hi There, I have three furr babies. 9yr old Tabby=22 lbs,
7yr old Tuxedo=14 lbs, 3.5yr old Torbie=17 lbs. These are
not small cats....they all received a new Pet Wheel Away for their annual 38mile trip to the Vet in September. I thought these would be way too small....they looked tiny when I rec'd them and I bought 3 large carriers. They smelled a bit so outside for 2-3days to blow away the smell...then I brought them inside and laid them down long way to see how the katz would respond. THEY LOVED them....they each picked their own carrier and went to sleep....even belly up...that's how comfortable they were.
The wheels make it very easy to be mobile with the katz.
I cant carry my 22lb boy very far but I can wheel him all over the place. My Vet fell in love with these and every person in the waiting room wanted to know where I got them....my carriers are black and the mesh on 3sides also black so affords much privacy to the kitty inside. Also zips from multiple places AND can be seat belted into the car seat....you can carry, roll, or backpack your babies.
I gave this product 5 stars....I'm very finicky Cat Mom. These are also airline friendly.
You will love this product. I'm so happy I have told all my
cat lover friends......yes, they are a little pricey but you get excellent quality and mobility....I think they would be ideal for a disabled or low mobility pet owner.
Thanks Petco.com for making these available.
I AM VERY VERY SATISFIED AS ARE MY FUR BABIES!!!"

"We have had our Wheel-away for about two weeks. I have a Yorkie who is afraid of sudden loud noises like gun shots and has previously gotten away from me. Now I can zip her in and we both feel confident. The handle is long enough that I don't have to bend over to push or pull it. The fabric and the wheels are sturdy. Also, the pockets are just right for carrying her leash, the car keys and more. It is light enough that I can ride my bicycle with her on my back for an hour and a half and not get too tired. I am a 69 year old lady. She doesn't sleep in it, but gets all excited when I pick it up to go somewhere."

"I used this nice little case to travel on an airplane with my pet. She is afraid of flying and tries to escape from her carrier. WELL...she did....TWICE from this carrier. The zippers have no locks and she was smart enough to scratch where the zippers were so they would open. This is a dandy item otherwise. The handling and easiness of use is very nice although it you have a pet that is afraid of an airplane I would not recommend it since it cannot be locked at the zippers."

"I bought this a couple of months ago. I had searched the internet but PetCo had the best price plus it was on sale. In the meantime I found one at Target for much less but when my petco one arrived I could tell the difference. The Petco Wheelaway has nice grade mesh like in a nicer sports bag. Also it has metal parts on the zipper pulls, a more stable telescoping handle. this is definitely a more solid construction. the Petco bag also has this metal piece that you slide into the front of the bag midway between the unzipping top and unzipping bottom part which acts a much sturdier support for him. When the top is unzipped and we're on a car ride he will sit and prop his head right onto the fabric covered bar.
hercules is a small dog at about 15 pounds but he's solid. he's lean but miscular and has a broad chest so he looks cramped when he sits up but i usually upzip it a little bit. It was hard deciding on the small versus the medium but most of the time I unzip some part of it so he can put his paws on the bar and watch as we walk around. He can be comfortable in it but it's not too roomy for him which is fine since we only use it when i need to hide him or use it as a car seat."

A fantastic product Date: June 19, 2006
"I would like to tell you this product is very loved by our 3 cats. When I first received it, as a gift from my sister, I brought it home and opened the bottom zipper, rolled the cloth up and fastened it there. I left the wheel-away pet carrier there for a couple of days... the cats got used to it. They played in it and crawled in it and went to sleep. Doing this made them more comfortable when we took the cats to the vet.

This pet carrier is also a back pack, it fastens to the seat belt for safety of your pet, it rolls on wheels, and it can be a bed for your pet. It has many nice features that comes with it. It is an all around great pet carrier."

Looks Good, but not leak-proof Date: June 18, 2006
"I used this carrier for a few years, though not on a regular basis. It held my cats well and was very secure, and my roommate borrowed it for a few months for her min pin puppy. I also used it on flights (med size) and it was easy to use and fit in the cabin (Delta Airlines). However, my cats urinate as soon as they leave the house, and I could not get the urine out, even using the best removers on the market. The urine also leaked out, so it would soil any cars, carpets, or laps it happens to be on. If I had a way to remove the fabric and clean it thoroughly, and if it could *prevent* leaks, I would get it again, but as is, I had to throw it away and would not get another. Not good if your pet springs leaks!"

Pet Wheel-Aways Date: May 2, 2006
"I bought this for my new kitten...as my husband is disabled and needs a wheeled carrier when he takes the baby to the vet. Quality is good and it is very good for a handicapped person...problem is when you angle it back to wheel it it knocks the poor little kitten off her feet. For a larger cat it makes staying steady a challenge. While it is very convenient for us it is going to take the cats a little while to get used to it. I'm going to make a wedge pillow to help keep the cats from feeling the incline so much. This probably would not be good for an older, arthritic pet."
