In a sadly unregulated pet food market it is refreshing to see a company that seems to truely care about what you feed your pets. Not only do my cats love this food but it is good for them. I had a 24 lb cat that since on this food has lost significant weight because of the lack of carbs in both the dry and wet foods. Highly recommend this food.

I have one cat with IBD, and this is the only food that does not upset her digestive system. Because it's a high quality food overall, I also feed it to my other cat. Whereas they've "burned out" on other foods in the past, Nature's Instinct has staying power. They both primarily eat the canned formula, but I also feed a small amount of the dry as a treat. Its high quality ingredients and lack of grain fillers gives me confidence they're getting top notch nutrition.

Our three cats love this food. They eat a mix of the venison and nature's variety raw chicken medallion. The venison is has been the only canned food that all three like. I love that they are eating grain free food. Their coats are beautiful, clear eyes and happy bellies.

Cats Like It

We started buying this food partly on our vet's recommendation. Our cat was suffering from what she believes is inflammatory bowel disease which she believes might be attributable to an allergy to some protein, probably chicken. She suggested that rabbit would be a protein that cats probably have not been exposed to in the past. I don't know whether the food is actually helping. The cat is also on some drugs, but he really likes the food. It is also very had to find a cat food without chicken in some form. So we are happy with this food overall.

Our rescue kittens were malnourished and had sparse coats when they came to live with us. We started them on Nature's Variety when they were old enough to eat solid food. They have beautiful coats now and are very healthy and active. In fact they love this food so much they demand their dinner at mealtime. They especially like the Venison. I have one picky eater and one who eats everything she can and they both love this cat food. With so many varieties of flavors you should find a flavor your cat loves.

Cat's Favorite Choices

All Three of my Cats love the Chicken, Lamb and especially the Duck. Will only take a couple of bites of the Venison and Rabbit leaving most of it on the plate with the exception of one Cat, he will eat anything lol. I will keep the Duck, Lamb and Chicken in stock. Not to sure about trying the Beef, but maybe I will pick up one can just to see how it goes. It is a bit expensive but one of my cats seems to have a slight food allergy to the Friskies I was feeding them, will definately stay with the Nature's Variety.

My cat suffers from irritable bowel syndrome, therefore, she cannot eat dry food. This food satisfies her finicky appetite.

Great cat food and the chicken version used to be one my 3 cat's favorite foods but for some reason they are rejecting it now. No reflection on the food itself these characters are finicky..

This is the one and only product i have found that works for my cat. A long and drawn out process has lead to my cat having food allergies to Chicken and Fish. This product has neither of those and she loves the taste and has been doing 100% better. This food is perfect for any cat with a sensitive stomach! My other cats love it also so it's a WIN-WIN!

One of my cats is allergic to all chicken products- & he's a picky eater to boot. Once I tried the chicken-free Nature's Instinct canned food- he really gobbled it down! He especially likes the Rabbit, and Lamb formulas, but he also likes the venison, duck and beef. He will walk away from many other canned foods- but licks his bowl clean with this brand! I just wish that they would make a chicken-free formula for the dry food as well. Unfortunately, all of their dry food has chicken in it for some reason.

An excellent product with top quality ingredients. Most important, my cats like it, and they're pretty finicky about what they'll eat. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. It's a bit pricier at Petco, but Petco has it in stock while a less pricey source is all out of my kitty boys' favorite flavors.

Perfect Healthy Cat Food

I purchased this product because I was looking for a good, all-natural healthy cat food that was closer to a cat's natural diet (such as grain-free). This was a great option and not as expensive as some. My cat got used to it quickly and seems to enjoy it, which is great since she is normally a very picky eater! I also like that there are so many flavor options.

No fillers, plenty of moisture which all cats need and work well for one of my cats that have allergys. They go crazy for the lamb, I order it by the case!!

Nature's Variety Instinct

This product was recommended to me at the CFA convention two years ago by a vet's symposium on cat food awareness. This product is MEAT, not grains and contains no ash. Cats are carnivores, and meat is the main portion of their diet. We no longer have diarrhea problems and fecal waste is black, shiny and segmented, the way it should be.

Back in March, our oldest cat, Bailey (he had his 10th birthday in September), did not a get a great report at the vet. His blood sugar was really high. This was surprising news to us, since we'd been regulating how much dry food he'd been eating over the past year, and as a result, he'd lost a few pounds and outwardly seemed very healthy and fit. We were feeding what we thought was a high-quality, more natural, lower calorie dry food to he and our other cats exclusively, and they all were doing well on it. Once he was diagnosed with high blood sugar and more tests were run to determine if he was diabetic and needed treatment, I decided to research cat nutrition more than I'd done in the past when looking for high-quality dry foods. I found articles from vets and cat nutrition experts stating that if you switch a pre-diabetic or diabetic cat to an exclusively canned or raw food diet that was low in carbs, you could potentially lower the cat’s blood sugar enough to avoid doing insulin treatment and get the cat back to a healthy blood sugar level. Since Bailey was healthy other than the high blood sugar number, we decided to start feeding him Nature's Variety Instinct canned cat food (chicken) and another brand to see which of the 2 low-carb options he liked best, and Nature's Variety Instinct won out. As a result of the dietary switch, Bailey is no longer getting high blood sugar results at the vet. They've checked him 4 times since then, and each time, his blood sugar has gone down. His most recent trip to the vet was last week, and we were overjoyed when the blood sugar reading was 129, which was even better than we anticipated. Our vet was blown away by the results, and wanted the name of the food we were feeding to recommend it to other cat owners whose cats were in similar situations. We've also begun feeding our other cats a combination of their regular dry food and Nature's Variety Instinct canned food, and almost all of them really seem to love it. We are very thankful for Bailey's good health and owe a lot of it to the nutritional Nature's Variety Instinct canned food we've fed him since the end of March. :-)

Rabbit is the best flavor

I tried this brand because my kitty was having an allergic reaction to his previous food. I was very impressed with the ingredient list on Natures Variety and one of the pet store's employees highly recommended it as well because he uses it for his own pets. However, my kitty only liked the Nature's Variety "rabbit" can food. Unfortunately, he did not like the other flavors. Because I was told alternative meats such as rabbit, duck, lamb, venison would be best for my cats allergies, I was hoping he would eat those in order to offer him variety, but my cat did not eat any of the others except the rabbit. I noticed the duck, venison, lamb flavors do not have any broth, which might be way he did not like them (?). However, as stated before, my cat did eat the natures variety rabbit and eats the entire serving in seconds and always wants more. He seems to really love the fact that the rabbit does have broth. He slurpes it right up. Perhaps he'll get use to the other flavors with time, but for now he looks forward to eating Natures Variety rabbit every day now.

Both my cats love the rabbit flavor, so I was excited to see it finally come back in stock after being unavailable the last 5 months. When I didn't have the canned rabbit flavor to feed them, they were happy enough to eat the Natural instinct dry food.

All my cats love Instinct grain free canned Rabbit. I looked for something new, because one cat had allergies. I have tried other canned rabbit but only one of 3 cats liked it. All 3 cats love Instinct. I am also happy that it does not have grains in it. I do not feed my cats any grains. I am sure you will be happy with this item.
