We have a Boxer that tends to dribble water all over the place from her jowls when she drinks. The floor always ends up wet and gooey around her water bowl. This placemat from Petco is a blessing! It has a small lip along the entire outer edge, so any liquid spills are contained within the mat. Nothing gets on the floor anymore - AMAZING! Also, it has rubber corners that grip the floor so the bowl doesn't slide. No more watery messes to clean up - Hooray! My only criticism is that I wish the mat was longer and wider so that it would cover a larger area. It is somewhat small but otherwise I am very pleased with it overall. Our 3 dogs and 2 cats all utilize it and seem comfortable with its texture and feel. I would highly recommend this placemat for messy eaters and sloppy drinkers!
