Great setup
Date: March 17, 2007
"This is a great set up. I purchased the 40 g. rec. The set up was easy. The only problem I had was the chemical material holder wouldn't fit properly because the pump's exhaust tube blocked it from the required position. This could be problem for most. However, I was already planning to also add a fluvel 205 conister filter for additional filtering-expecially chemical. I was easily able to attach the canister tubes into the dry filters works in the back. They tank is now stocked with 13 adults african cichids including my prized Eureka Red male-he and his three females had already sucessefully bred three times in two months!"

Good design but poor execution
Date: December 22, 2006
"SeaClear's 30 G acrylic is nice to look at but is poorly made. For example, many essential pieces (like the 4-way floodgate) are poorly made, break easily (two parts on my new 30 G broke in shipment) and are difficult to replace. In addition there is no customer service at the manufacturer's California office, and retailers do not carry replacement parts. I've been unable to use my new tank (I've had it three weeks) because I cannot locate replacement parts. I'd strongly recommend that others puchase a product other than SeaClear."

Beauty & Function!

"First off this is a great setup. I bought the 50 gallon. I do want to make clear the filtration system is awesome, note that the internal system does take up room in the tank. So you have to make the choice of having a tank with all kinds of stuff you can see, and hanging out the back and top ie; filter, heater, etc, or hidden as with this tank. It comes with a lighted hood, and you will need a (20W) lamp.
I suggest looking at the companies site, and researhing the filter system, as well as reading the tech info on water levels in the tank. (casco group makes these, google it).
This tank would make a great tank for any "jumping fish" as it's pretty escape proof.
Basically to get a nice setup you'll need stuff like gravel, heater, plants, and other decorations, an air pump to connect to the oxygen input in the wet/dry filter system. These tanks are well oxygenated, and other items added that put air in the water are not needed unless you want them for visual purposes only. Or a backup oxygen system should one airpump die if you have dual pumps.
Also would like to note the pre-filters are re-usable, just wash off in the hose, and replace when showing signs of wear. (low cost maint wise will pay off in long run versus many filter systems you replace monthy for $5.00 and up)
If you don't mind losing a bit of real-estate in the tank, but having a beautiful tank without all the contraptions, these are for you.
Casco (maker of the aquarium) has excellent support, and has replied to a few emails within 24 hours, and took care of me asap."
