This is a decent seat belt for dogs. For the price, it's the safest you'll find. The clip can connect to the metal connector between the seat that's intended to secure baby carseats. I don't worry about my dogs when they are I'm the car now. I do wish the company would make one that's even shorter. I have a very small car with very small dogs. Overall, great product. If you can't afford the expensive (over $100) brands, buy this!

I attached the teter to her harness and she was able to sit or lay down. Keep her from moving around in the SUV.

Not for tough chewers

The harness is secure & snug fitting. I bought a medium size and it held my 30 lb schnauzer mix safely in his seat until he chewed completely through the harness and tether. I had the harness snuggly fitted to him and the excess ends cut off. He's a really tough chewer and I expected him to gnaw on the tether a bit. In fact I bought extra tethers just in case. I'm taking photos of the destroyed harness to send to the manufacturer. Even with a tough chewer, you'd expect the thing to last more than a short drive. If I get another one, I will not place the dog in the backseat as they recommend. I would put it him the passenger seat where I can keep an eye on him.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
