We have two dogs. I was so excited to see this product in a smaller size for my first dog and loved the colors since green matched our kitchen. Everything was fine, until I got this product in this size for our 2nd rescue. In a peak of anger, he absolutely destroyed the entire bowl. Chewed it to complete bits and pieces, and from what I understand, he doesn't even have a hard palate like our terrier! We had bought a second bowl in the cream color for him and he also started chewing that one! It already has a whole in it and we have had to order two completely different bowls now. So, not thrilled with this. I was told that bamboo was supposed to be great and super strong but this puppy tore it to bits.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I liked the idea of a bamboo bowl, but it quickly started to deteriorate. After washing in the dishwasher, the surface of the bowl became rough and splintered. I worry my dog will scratch his tongue when licking the bowl. I finally had to toss it when it cracked the last time I washed it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My poodle.mix loves this bowl! She will not drink from stainless bowls, so this was a great, inexpensive buy.
I would recommend this to a friend!
