Get the trainers with the tethered head

These have a solid head cast in one piece with the body, not the separate head tethered with a piece of cord, like the Dokken and Avery True Bird trainers on which these are modelled.
The purpose of the tethered head in retriever training is to teach the dog not to shake the bird and damage it.
Fortunately I was able to exchange these at my local Petco for birds with tethered heads.
I have found the Averys unsatisfactory (too stiff, too large, too slippery) and the Dokkens while great are VERY expensive. The tethered-head birds are a nice product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
