"I love this cage!!!!!! I got htis cage when it came out and I have had it for about four years.It has housed many hamsters and they loved it. They love to sleep in the top look out. Plus I love the option of being able to put tubes in the hole on the side and on top so your hamsters has more places to play. Unlike some cages where you can not connect tubes to it. It is also good for dwarf hamsters and Teddy bear hamsters."

"I was kind of skeptical at first because the part that keeps the lid on broke the first time I put it together. And then the hamsters like to chew on the cage itself so there are blue paint shavings everywhere. But other than that it's a great cage. I put a little hut in there that they love to sleep in but when they fight they need their space so one of them ends up in the little apartment up top. I found that if I put a egg carton or toilet paper roll in there or even a paper towel, it keeps them busy for days and they stop chewing on the bars. It isn't that hard to clean. I dump it and spray it down in the shower. That's the easiest and fastest way to do it."

Beware of brittle plastic.

"The problem with this unit is the plastic. It becomes more and more brittle with time and multiple cleanings and eventually parts start to snap off. We lost the lid latch, two hole covers and part of the base tray.
Our hamster has escaped dozens of times and luckily we've found him within a day or two.
We purchased this unit for our dwarf hamster a few years ago. He's now gone and we're onto our third hamster. Initially the habitat worked well and there were no issues other than the typical noisy wheel and leaky water bottle.
We eventually bought an after market wheel and water bottle that work much better."

"Whetever you do, do NOT get this cage. It looks really cool, but my hamster escaped. We still haven't found him. I have read other reviews that their hamster escaped through the door. [I can't even open the door!] He got out through the cap. Do not get this cage!"

"I bought this cage for two hamsters and I'm having to replace it a few months later. Unfortunately, both of the top clips fell off and it's taking too long for me to clean. Another reason that it needs to be replaced is that the hamsters are using the blue tube as a place to urinate and the urine is leaking out of the holes in the tube. YUCK!"

"I bought this cage for my 2 mice. It was a pain to clean and put together, the clips on the shelfs broke, and the wheel kept falling down so much we had to buy a new wheel. The only nice thing was the fun colors. After 2 months I had to get another cage. Save your self the time and money and dont get this cage."

"I WOUD RECOMEND THIS CAGE. IT IS VERY ROOMY. THE WATER BOTTLE DOES LEAK A LITTLE THOUGH. MY HAMSTER LOVES THE NESTING AREA UP AT THE TOP. ONE PROBLEM IS THE BLUE PLUG AT THE TOP. MY HAMSTER WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE PLUG OUT. JUST PUT A PIECE OF TAPE OVER THE TOP OF THE PLUG AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE. THIS CAGE IS VERY NICE. "The cage itself is good. There are two things that I don't like about it. First are the "clips" on the top and bottom to hold it together, they have already snapped off within the first month of having the cage. Second are the plastic shelves that come with the cage. My daughter's gerbil has chewed completely through one shelf and is almost through the second one. This will diminish the gerbils access to the whole cage and his food will have to be left on the floor."

"The cage is great, except for the water bottle, it leaks. So we bought a water bottle that sits on the outside of the cage and bought him a Lazy Tower to fill the hole. However, our Hamster loves the large space and the wheel. He tends to climb the back of the cage instead of the smaller tubes but still its is great."

"I am very happy with the "crittertrail two". It was very easy to assemble. My 3 and 6 year old boys love the colors and the fact that their new hamster can be viewed at all times. My only complaint would be the water bottle, it leaked too much. We had to purchase a traditional one with the ball stopper. Our hamster loves the petting area at the top. She will usually sleep there or in the tube. It's very spacious for one hamster. I'm so happy I purchased this one. I can't wait to add on."

"I had a hamster named Chestnutt and it took me like an hour and a half to clean his cage and accesories. I thought it was just me but its' the cage. As I was cleaning my hamsters' cage after he died i was trying to take off the tubes and the side snapped off. I wouldnt recomend this."

"My male hamster LOVED this cage from the moment we put him in. He loves the tube so much that he goes up, turns around, goes down, goes up. goes down, and it's hilarious! The wheel is great because it's plastic, which means you don't have to oil it, it's silent, and removable. It's really colorful, and the first thing you notice when you walk in the room. But if you hamster isn't familiar with the type of water bottle being used, you can easily hook one onto the side. The assembly was quick and easy, in fact, two 11 year olds put it together. It comes with instructions but for the most part it's pretty self explanatory. If you're iffy about this cage, definitely get it! It's a fantastic purchase!"

"This is the first cage I have bought for my hamster and it is a very good one. My hamster loves to sleep in the petting zone. The first day I had my hamster, he moved all the bedding up to the petting zone to sleep there. He takes his food up there too. He loves the exercize wheel and the tubes. He even likes to climb on the wire bars. Five paws for this product."

"This was our second attempt at a hamster cage. The first one was a nightmare! We love this cage! It is open and bright. Easy to clean. The downfalls as we have found them are 1. plastic is thin and appears fragile. 2. The wheel isn't quiet...but we remove it at night. Our wheel isn't the one in the picture, it is a rounded version that is awkward to attach to the cage....working okay. and 3. The water bottle sits very low to the shelf. We tried lowering the shelf but it then hits the wheel....working okay, but we plan to replace."

"I had a longhaired and very fat hamster and she had no trouble at all fitting into the tubes! It amazed me. I had no idea she could ever fit! While I had the cage, we both really enjoyed it but over time the joints become weaker and the plastic and metal bars were all chewed up. Also the tubes and petting zone are kind of hard to clean. I ended up just spraying the whole thing down with hot water in my shower. Overall I think this is more enjoyable for the child than it is the hamster. People care more about colours and stuff more than they do, so I would just stick with a plain old fashioned cage if your looking for something that lasts a long time. I've had the super pet 2 level complete kit for all of my hamsters now and they've out lasted all my other cages."

"I had this cage for my first hamster and he loved it but i didn't. The wheel is extra loud and the dropping and food get stuck on it to where you have to let it soak in water. The cage is so hard to put together and the plastic bands that keep the top on broke the third time i put the cage together."
