I bought this product because my puppy coat was really coarse. In just a few applications, his coat became soft to the touch and the product has a long lasting perfume that it seems my puppy just got out from a bath. It smells wonderful!

I have a black pitboxer. He recently went through flea treatments and with his already sensitive dry skin it left him constantly flaky and itchy. He could barely take a couple of steps before stopping to scratch. As soon as I sprayed it and worked it through his coat he seemed relieved. I observed him for quite a while after and I haven't seen him scratch!! The price was also very reasonable.

I have a pug with truly sensitive skin. I have her on a regimen of : Tropiclean Oatmeal Shampoo, Tropiclean Oatmeal rinse, and this Petco Oatmeal conditioning spray. I love the way that it smells. For me, the best way to use it is to spray it on the dog right after the bath. I spray once while she is still pretty wet and massage it into her coat and skin with a towel, then while she's still a little damp I spray her again and massage again. It helps her coat to soften up and keeps her smelling like a coconut instead of a typical stinky pug. This, along with the mentioned shampoo and rinse have really done amazing things for my pug. Love it.

My parents brought my dog to visit me. He has always had very dry, flaky skin and a really wirey coat. This time, he was itching, flaking, shedding everywhere and generally looking worse for wear. I bathed him with an oatmeal shampoo and waited until he was about half dry before spraying him with this and rubbing it into his coat and skin with my hands. It smells very sweet, like brown sugar and coconut (just like the shampoo) but I did not find it over powering. It has been 5 hours since the bath. His skin is no longer flaking and his coat is gleaming and super soft. He has stopped itching 100%.
The other reviewer mentioned a residue of some sort from this spray. I just tried spraying some more on my dog's now dry coat to see if that made a difference. I I have NO sticky residue on my hands and my dog smells like a cookie, not a wet dog.
This is a conditioner, not a dry shampoo so I would imagine that it works best after a bath NOT as a coat refresher.

I purchased this for my large lab mix and it it absolutely disappointing. He was getting a tad bit smelly and I sprayed him all over and brushed it out and he ended up smelling like some kind of dirty wet dog. I ended up giving him a bath to wash it off. I also found that it leaved his hair sticky and kind of greasy. when I pet him afterwards, my hand has this film on it that is sticky. I would not recommend this spray to anyone. I have not used the other varieties of the Petco dog spray but oatmeal is the one i DO NOT recommend.
