very easy to put together

I'm a first time chicken owner and i wanted not only something cute for my chickens but quality. I searched several sites and petco had the cuties and the most affordable. The only thing i needed to worry about was putting it together and if it was good quality. Well.....This was not only easy to assemble but it is made good quality wood. Everything was painted and matched very nicely. All of the pieces were pre drilled and they all matched up.
The pull out tray makes it very easy to clean. I have to say I love to look in the window at my chickens.
My chickens are very happy, I'm very happy. Thank you PETCO.... :-)
Shipping was awesome, no delays.

Cape Cod Needs a Little More...

We just built our Cape Cod, and while it's a good starter unit, the design leaves several things to be desired.
1. It's supposed to be for chickens or rabbits, but there is no roost pole for chickens (which is what we bought it for).
2. There are also no ventilation holes in the peak for cross ventilation. There is an opening in the side where the chickens go in that remains open, but I'm thinking about drilling some holes on both sides at the top to let more air in because chickens really need the air, and it should also release some heat and ammonia build up.
3. I would also have liked the door to be large enough to completely pull the nest box out. Currently, you have to build the nest box and set it inside the house before you attach the roof.
4. I would also have liked a screen floor over the pull out pan at the bottom. It's awkward to have to open the door and hold the nest box while you're trying to pull out the pan for cleaning. You have to then set the box down in the bottom of the pen after the pan is removed, and then reach back in, pick it up and hold it while trying to slide the pan back in. We have other hutches that have the screen over the pan, and they are far easier to deal with.
5. The latches on the door to coop and the screened pen are also an issue. They slide quite freely, and it would be an easy job for a raccoon to get the doors open.
More photos would have revealed some of these design issues. You can only tell so much from the single photo of the outside of the coop and the description provided. Still, this was actually very easy to put together, and we are going to add better door locks, as well as a roost pole and more ventilation holes beneath the peaks. You can probably find a coop with a better design, but this one can still be a decent starter for a couple of chickens if you put in a little extra work. Ours is going into a larger kennel-type run to give the chickens more room to exercise and forage.

Good for Ducks

This pen will pretty comfortably suit 3 ducks if they are medium sized. Safe from predators, and overall about 43 sq. ft. Make sure you still let them run about in a bigger fence. There is space for a small wading pool so that the duckies can swim a bit and digest their food.

Very Easy Assembly

Fed Ex "lost" the first one. However when I called Petco they sent me out a replacement in no time. It was very easy to put together...took about 20 mins. It is decent to small size though so I would only house 2-3 rabbits. There is no bottom either so I bought wire mesh so the rabbits wouldn't dig their way out. All in all I am satisfied.

TINY AND CHEAP

This coop is TINY. I bought this by recommendation from a friend, and it was a poor decision. This coop definitely can not hold 3 hens, and 2 is tight. The run is a joke, so your chickens will have to be free ranging then ENTIRE day OUTSIDE of the coop. It is made of cheap material which was broken when it arrived. It is not even worth the money I paid for it. Unless you plan to keep two bantam chickens and have yard space you plan to give up for the hens, this is NOT something you should buy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
