It's a help.

We bought these steps to help our Rottie with hip dysplasia climb up on our bed. They are light weight so easy to move out of the way when not in use, but will still support her weight. She tends to step off the side if we're not there guiding her, so extra width would help. I wish they were a little wider, but she is able to use them without too much of a problem.

Unlike many other steps you see on the market, these have deep enough steps (comparable in depth to real stairs in the house), so long-bodied dogs like dachshunds can use them to move up easily. Also nice and light, to move to various needed locations. Don't try it for a bed - too low for that - but for couch-puppies, it's just the ticket.

Deeper Stairs Did The Trick!

I used to have another type of stairs that were not very deep, and my dog would not use them. He would just cry near the bed and I would have to pick him up or be "mean mommy." My husband, as a holiday gift for our dog (really, for ME), picked up these steps, and within 5 minutes he was on the bed by himself (the DOG ;) ). Why didn't I think of that!? I recommend trying these before giving up on steps! YAY!!!

I bought these stairs for my 2 little dachshunds so they would quit jumping from the chair. This should help save them from leg and back injury's. Took a couple times, but use them all the time now. I love them. So did my Vet.

Have tried other types of ramps, but these steps were so much easier for my GSD to use. I never let my large dogs jump on/off the bed or in/out of my SUV. My puppy (90 lbs. @ 10 months) has been using these steps since he was about 10 weeks. I like them because the steps are as wide front to back as any I can find. These are much more lightweight than plastic ramps. While I liked the styrofoam ramp I had, it wasn't as stable--always a little wobbly. I recommend this to my dog friends and am getting a second one today so I don't have to move it back and forth!

My dog jumped off the bed 3 nights ago dislocating her patella and rupturing her ACL. $2200 in surgery later I bought these so she can still move about in the house while she recovers. I highly recommend everyone train their dogs to use stairs to save their pets alot of pain. These injuries can happen to any pet!

My miniture poodle developed some arthritis which was making it harder for him to jump on the bed and sofa so part of his "treatment" was getting some stairs for him. This is the PETCO brand which is quite similar to the other brand and less expensive if it's only 2 stairs you'll need. This will get him just about even with the sofa and the "third step" is from here to the top of the bed so more steps aren't really needed. Measure your furniture to see what will work for your pet first!
This product is very sturdy, very easy to put together, and very lightweight for moving around the house as needed. But what really sold me is the WIDE stairs so he can put all 4 paws on each, if needed, especially while learning. Also, the step pads are removable for washing, if they get dirty, and they act as a gripper for the dog so he doesn't slip and can feel secure. Oh, and the stairs themselves don't move. He now has a jumping option and goes up and down the stairs without a thought. Use a good piece of meat as a treat to walk your kid up and back down a few times and before they know what they did, they won't be scared of the stairs. Hope this helps your kids as they age!

It is easy to put together. The steps are nice and wide and have the carpet square for non slipping. Now I just have to get my black lab mix use to them.

Very sturdy steps - it even supported me when I tried it out, but my dog is still too hesitant to use it. I'll let her get used to it being around the bed first, then try again.

I bought these steps for my own chubby little dog who has trouble jumping on my bed. I then ordered a second set of steps for my daughter's elderly min pin who also has trouble getting up and down from the living room couch. I think she is going to order another set for the bedroom.

This is a great pair of steps. It has wide covered steps, which most don't have. It stays in place. My cats love the two sets that I have even my younger cats use them.

Steps are too small for my medium sized dog

My dog is 22 pounds, and the steps are just not wide enough for him. Also we got it so he could go up on our bed which is a high one, but typical of beds today, & it just wasn't high enough. I think it would be good for a small dog, like the Yorkie pictured on the box, but not medium sized & especially not large dogs. They should make steps wider & higher for medium to large dogs. Maybe they do?
