Gracie has had numerous surgeries on her eyes and the comfy cone is so easy to remove and put on. She is still able to play with her toys with it on.

Better collar

Used to have the old plastic cone, but this one is better. It's soft, attachable to your dog's collar so it won't slip off if they shake their head. I was only able to find this collar online as my local Petco doesn't carry it in stock, but I'm glad I purchased this cone, just follow this sizing guideline. It's well made therefore I should be able to use this for years if needed.

Aside from me measuring wrong on the neck to snout distance, leaving it about 1 inch too short. This product still served its purpose. Ivy Sue didn't mind wearing it and was comfortable in it. I am giving this to my mother for her dog and buying another the proper size when her heat comes back around.

My golden, 95 lbs, age 12, slept great with the Xlarge cone. At first I wasn't sure if he would be able to get in his favorite chair because the Xlarge cone is really long on him but he did. I tried the large cone first but it wasn't long enough to prevent licking hot spot area. I do believe this cone is more comfortable for him when he is sleeping. I may continue to use the old clear plastic cone during the day because he can see more.

My cat has serious recurring allergies and has to be "coned" every few months to heal from her hot spots. I hated the plastic cones because they appeared to be very uncomfortable for her. She's not fond of any cone, but she's much more comfortable in this one and can sleep much better than with the plastic cones.

Compared to the hard plastic "cone of shame" provided by the vet, the Comfy Cone gave my grand-dog a much improved quality of life for the four weeks following her surgery. She was able to lay down and generally negotiate her surrounding much easier, and no gnawing on her cast!

So much better than a plastic cone

We purchased a plastic cone from another pet store after our puppy was neutered. We found out about a week after we purchased the cone that it didn't fit right(we have a petit min pin thats just under 7 pounds and 8 months old) and our puppy had been licking his stitches when we weren't home, so he ended up with an infection. Once we figured this out, we came to Petco and purchased the Comfy Cone, although the only one they carried was black(no big deal). Its adjustable, so it fits perfectly. Our puppy is a little feisty, so being able to fold the cone hasn't come in handy, he just eats and drinks around it, but its a useful feature. He's healed nicely and hasn't been able to lick at all. Well worth the money.

My shih tzu Sophie is dealing with an ulcerated cornea and was given a long, hard cone after surgery. It was so difficult for her to deal with that she was miserable. My good friend in La. suggested a soft cone, and I went online with you to find such a thing. I was not only pleased to find that you had one, but three alternatives for Sophie! Not only did she immediately know the difference, within 2 hrs. she was running and chasing the cat!! I cannot tell you how wonderful this Comfy Cone is!

I have a 140lb Bloodhound that recently had surgery on his front leg to remove a benign tumor. After four weeks of him banging me in the legs with the hard plastic cone, half a roll of ducttape to hold it together, and battling to get it on and off of him I decided there had to be something better. I found the Comfy Cone and thought "I'll never find one to fit" but I did. He has a 25" neck and the X-Large fit him perfectly. He loves it and will actually stick his head in it without a fight. No more bruises on me. It's flexible enough that he can get in his dog house. He wore it two weeks and it looks as new now as it did when I bought it. His leg finally healed so I removed the stays and tossed it in the wash. It came out looking like new. We will NEVER go back to the plastic cone! This one cost more than the plastic cone but is worth every penny!

Great for Eye Surgeries

Two of my four Labs have had cataract removal/implant surgery, and both came home with a hard plastic e-collar that cost me $20.I threw both of them out as soon as we hit the car, and replaced them with the Comfy Cone. Generic plastic e-collars are hard and sharp, and I consider them to be a hazard to my other dogs as well as my legs!
My Labs could eat, drink, and sleep comfortably with these cones, and neither could reach their eyes.
The only drawback would be right after surgery, they can rub their eyes against the inside, maybe pull out stitches, so we watched them carefully the first week or so, and were on pins and needles at night. But I reasoned that they could rub against the plastic collar as well, so strict supervision would have been in order anyway. Considering they need to wear them for a month, an excellent, quality product.

Help for people with size concerns...

I got the Comfy Cone for the neutering of my 6-month old Mini Australian Shepherd.
His neck is 12 inches(30.5 cm) thick.
From collar to the tip of his snout, 9 inches(23 cm) long.
The (Medium) Comfy Cone comes almost 1 inch past his snout.
It is velcroed at standard tightness (all Velcro touches opposites).
I felt it was a risk in buying it, because working at a vet, I see many products that come in & fail. With that said, the Comfy Cone is everything it claims to be. It is sturdy enough to prevent him from chewing stitches, but flexible enough for him to be comfortable for 2 weeks after surgery.
Warning: If your dogs freaks out when applying a cone- this is normal, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET OPEN TO SURGERY WOUNDS! ...he/she will get over the cone, but you won't get over the $ you lose having to fix stitches.

Our Maltese had ear surgery and was very frightened of the plastic E-Collar. The Comfy Cone is just that..it is sturdy, but also flexible if your pet bumps into something. The Velcro fastening is easy off and on, and being able to fold it back for eating is a plus. You may consider it expensive, but it is worth every penny and your pet will be very happy and comfortable

This product was a blessing for me and my dog, who had rather sudden mast cell tumor surgery. He wore a cone for about 2 weeks. I can't stand the clanging and banging of the vet-issued generic plastic cone, so I researched and ordered this product as soon as we had scheduled the surgery. The velcro is tight, although it is LOUD to remove. The cone doesn't bang into everything and damage walls or furniture. The fold-down ability is nice for eating or drinking, but it was hard to get it to stay like that for long. The black-out lining seemed comfortable and calming, but it was hot to wear outside on a warm day. I ended up using the plastic cone during the day, so my dog could still have some awareness of his surroundings (the plastic is not clear, but at least he can see shadows). Considering the vet charged $17-$22 for the plastic one, the price is great. Despite these minor complaints, I'm still giving it five stars due to the product quality, price and overall relief it brought in a difficult time.

A friend suggested I buy this cone for my dog after he had surgery and I so glad she did! My dog is a small dog (15 lbs) and the cone that came from the vet was so big and uncomfortable for him. Once I put the Comfy Cone on him he immediately loved it and was able to sleep much better. As it has the velcro straps I was able to take it off easily when I fed him and put it right back on after he was done. I could just tell that my dog was much more comfortable with this collar and it did its job of keeping him from licking his stitches. Don't hesitate get the Comfy Cone now!

This cone is a lot better than the vets, but the dog I had hated the load velcro ripping by her ear and could almost reach her stitches because it's shorter. Still a good product though.

My lab had surgery on his back knee. He wasn't allowed to lick it or nip at the stitches. We had gotten a plastic cone from the vet, all that did was iritate the dog and he could rub his leg with it. A friend of mine recomended the comfy cone. My dog will sit and let me put it on him and he seems really comfy in it. His surgery site is doing really well.

This does work well as far as preventing excessive licking, and is probably more comfortable than the hard plastic model, but it is very bulky and not as soft or comfy as advertised. It is still more preferable than the one from the vet.
