I Only Wish I Liked My Diet Food This Much

"I have 3 incredibly picky large-breed mix dogs who at 15, 11, and 8 respectively are all considered "senior." Their activity level naturally is not what it once was, and the pounds have been creaping up on the 2 girls in particular. I searched for several months for a "lite" food easily available in my area that would still provide them with all the nutrition that they needed and, most importantly, that they would actually eat. I went through samples from many well known brands of varying quality: Pedigree, Purina One, Eukanuba, Iams, Science Diet, Nutro Natural Choice, Solid Gold, Wellness, and Royal Canin. Of those, the only one my dogs liked was Royal Canin but their MAXI Senior formula is hard to procure in my area and I didn't think the ingredient list was quite worth the price.
I finally found my answer in Natural Balance! My local Petco sells small sample bags of the regular ultra premium Natural Balance cat and dog kibbles (check your own for availability), and I picked some up one day on a whim. The dogs went nuts for it so on my next trip I bought a bag of the reduced calorie food. I am quite happy to report that my picky dogs are just as enthusiastic about the reduced calorie version as they were the full calorie version.
It's been almost 2 months since I made the switch. My oldest girl is slimming down nicely, and my younger one, who had more weight to lose, is also coming along. In addition, coats are thicker and softer, colors are stronger, breath smells nicer, and stool has decreased and breaks down faster than before. I'm so pleased I switched my cats to Natural Balance too."

THE BEST DOG FOOD EVER

"I have 2 dogs, an 8 year old Dalmatian and an 11 year old beagle/basset/lab mix. They have allergies and were raised on Science Diet, Senior or Diet formula after age 6. As they got older, they seemed to lose interest in this food, so I had to start mixing canned food with the dry food to get them to eat it. After doing research on dog food, I learned that Science Diet is not what I thought it to be. I was convinced that I had to start feeding my dogs a natural food. I decided to try Natural Balance. I use Reduced Calorie formula since my dogs can tend to be lazy and prone to gain weight.
I expected them to fuss during the transition, but they seemed to really like it! Once they were on Natural Balance only, they began to wolf it down at meal times. They don't even fuss when I feed it to them dry, without adding some canned food - that's a miracle! I can't say enough about the difference this dog food made in their coats and overall health. I highly recommend this food, if you love your dog(s) like I love mine."

"14 year old Standard poodle. Rosie's vet said she needed a LOW fat food even though she is not over weight. She is vunerable to a disease so a low fat diet is recommended to hopefully prevent this disease. Rosie likes the flavor of this food, so do our other 4 dogs who may steal a bite now and then. I continue to be amazed at how fast the shipping is. Usually arrives within 2 days of my Internet order. On the chair with Rosie is 17 year old Sienna."

"This is a food that we feed to our dog on an intermittent basis to help her shed some pounds here and there.
The only thing that's a bit disconcerting about it is that brown rice is the first ingredient. Meat should really be the first ingredient in any food. Grains aren't ideal to a dog's or cat's health, however, we make allowances every once in awhile, because our dog really loves the taste of this food."

"i have 2 labs, one is a male @ 15 months old weights 110 lbs, in 3 days i have notices his red puffy eyes are almost back to normal,he doesnt always want to or look for food to eat,,and he is so much more active now almost like he was when he was a little guy..we love this product.."

"I have fed my dogs this feed for over 5 years and recommended this feed to EVERYONE I know. Shiney coats, less yard "matter/waste" and even thru the scare of the pet food poisening, I held true to Natural Balance. 2 photo's below of a rescued Irish Setter show the difference from November, 2008 until March 2009!"

"My Golden Retriever wasn't getting much exercise and gained a lot of weight. He also had a lot of skin problems and allergies. I changed his dog food to Natural Balance about a year ago and not only did he lose weight but he hasn't had a break out in many months. I am so happy with this food and so is King."

"I have two miniature long-haired dachshunds. I had them on another brand of dog food. They began gaining weight after they were spayed even though I walk them every day. I spoke with my local Petco dealer and he suggested that I try the Reduced Calorie of Natural Balance. I couldn't be happier! They are gradually dropping the extra weight.Their coats look like black silk and they love the food. For a variety, I'll add some peas. It quickly disappears when put in their individual bowls! This dog food may cost more, but it is worth every penny. Just knowing my doxies aren't getting by-products, makes me happy!"

"we have 3 dogs, small -medium and large. Due to doctor's orders,and a thyroid problem, Large dog, had to "lose some weight"....so we researched our options and decided on Natural Balance Reduced Calorie Dry food. we were concerned about medium and small dogs not wanting this new food..but to our surprise all 3 are crunching away on this terrific and satisfying food !! we are watching the portions as recommended and offer a can of the Natural Balance Wet Food only on fridays..(its their "pizza "night)..with the dry.. YUMMY! and Large dog has lost 32 pounds... so it works and all 3 girls are HAPPY HAPPY AND HEALTHY.. so thank you for this wonderful dog food."

"Natural Balance Reduced Dog Food changed it's formula, according to their customer service, approximately 3 1/2 months ago (approximately October 2006).It no longer contains GLUCOSAMINE, tomato pomace, rosemary or oat fiber (potato fiber substituted). It still contains Oatmeal.
Still an excellant product, buyers need to be aware of correct ingredients, especially glucosamine, which effects mobility."

"I used this dog food to get both my weimaraner's down from 102 lbs to 75-80 lbs. The quality ingredients are 2nd to none (except feeding them raw human food) and the company is well respected. My dogs literally will not touch any other dog food that is put out (won't eat other dogs food) because they like it so much. The food even smells like fresh ingredients! Good Stuff!"

"Natural Balance is the best dog food we have ever found. My Black lab was over weight AND has a lot of alergies. By switching to this dog food he has lost weight and the alergies symptoms are a lot better! His coat is shinny, his skin is not as ruff and itchy and he has a lot more energy. "We first got this 'lean' food for our dog since he was around 10 pounds overweight (and needed to drop those pesky pounds to benefit his hips). We figured he was going to put up a stink about the usual low-calorie food lack of taste, etc. But lo and behold, he actually warmed right up to it (especially adding a smidgen of the canned version to it), and will actually eat it dry most of the time! And voila, he also lost that important 10 pounds (though I think the suggested portion sizes are somewhat big for a chubby dog)! Just exercise them decently, and watch their food intake, and it should work!"
