"I really love this crate ... I've never had a top-loading one before (had never seen one). It's been great! I had to learn to latch it, though, because Angel quickly learned she could push it open and climb out ... through the TOP!
I do wish I had gotten the larger size to begin with (I forgot how quickly puppies grow). And even though she is far from the weight limits, she's getting almost too long for it."

"This particular travel den was purchased for our second puppy. We bought one 6 months ago for our older rat terrier and he loved it immediately. We've crate trained our puppies (say what you will...) and while Benny and Gracie love their regular crates, they both have really taken to these travel dens. The construction is pretty solid and an overall good quality product."

"I purchased the 400 series which is a perfect size for my pug/dachshund mix. I bought the accessory wheels and it moves around easily throughout the house. Not to heavy for me to lift either. Very happy with it!"

"Great features. The door release handles are especially appreciated. The carry handle is more comfortable too. I would have liked better assembly instructions for the side clamps, but that's not that big of a deal."

"I use the dog carrier daily as a bed for my maltese. I feel the dog has so much more air circulating with the wire top opening. The size is just right for her and she seems to be quite comfortable with her new bed. The construction and quality are superior. Thanks for such a wonderful product."

"This is a great kennel and it is much easier to get my cat into it with the top loading door. However, thank goodness I called the airline weeks before I was due to travel because they will NOT accept top loading kennels. So, now I have to return this kennel and get another one."

IATA Approved? Not Really.

"I bought this product in Petco. I had to buy two carriers to fly my cats via cargo and this one is pretty nice. Its very durable, great features and I loved how it was top loading. AND it's IATA approved, supposedly. I didn't think twice about it. Compared to all the other kennels, it looked secure and had lots of open air. It also comes with a shoulder strap.
Its a great kennel but dropping my cats off at Continental Cargo at LAX was a different story. According to Continental, top loading carriers are not allowed. Not enough research was my fault on my end but the man on the phone, who I booked the flight with said it would be fine as long as it was IATA approved. So I get there to drop my pets off and almost immediately the men working there hovered over it, talking to each other, calling over other workers and whatnot. So I walk in the office and the man at the desk had to call CLE airport to point out the situation. The man said that they'll take the hit for it and that they'll let my cats through but for future reference, top loading carriers are a big no no.
Don't get me wrong, its a great carrier! Lots of locking features and open air. Easy to get your pet in. But if you're flying your pet in one of these, talk to your airline ahead of time and you might want to talk to two or three different people to make sure. I don't know if anyone had an issue like this but if there's enough, Caesar Milan should take the IATA approved off."

"Good product but my lhasa apso is 17 lbs and the crate that is supposed to be for dogs up to 20 lbs is a little too small. He fits in but its too cramped."

"I got this for my shih tzu and he's comfortable in it after a few minutes because he has a lot of room to move around in it and the can still see us from up top and through the front. The material is sturdy and the door is strong as well. I just wish it was a little cheaper."

"My husband and I spent about 30 min. in petco trying to decide what pet crate we wanted to get for our new puppy. We decided to get this one because of the door on the top of the crate. My husband and I traveled 1300 miles after we got it. It was VERY easy getting our puppy in and out of it on our trip. I am very happy with this crate. We are about to get another puppy and we are going to get her the same pet crate!"
