Could be rated "5" for the right person. For me it is a little too big, and I would prefer an attachment I can use with a collar ring. My dog's collar does not fit through the strap and I had to make a modification to make it work. I do like the way the bell is attached to the strap, more secure and not promoting metal fatigue. The bell itself does ring well and works for keeping track of my dog in brush and forest which was the whole point.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The bell is attractive to hang on my door.

I like the bell, however it doesn't ring loud enough for me to hear if I am in another room. And it needs a better way to hang from the doorknob .

My friend bought this for me since i go hiking a lot and have the dog off leash. It allows me to hear him from far away and it puts my mind at ease. So if you hike or go in the woods a lot then get this it will make your life easier.

The cow bell is beautifully made, it' very durable, and so is its loop. I actually bought it for a different purpose (I've hung it on the door knob to teach my dog to ring it to go outside) but am certain it works perfectly for its intended purpose. Its ringing sound is loud and clear.
I would recommend this to a friend!
