I got one of these for my RES Turtle Tank and also bought an underwater (3.50$) fish tank thermometer and it seems that, the zoo med digital tends to read the temperature at the very top of the water (or above), rather than where the bottom of the thermometer reaches to.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This thermometer was a good buy, so I thought. It worked fine for about two weeks. It says it can be submerged in water, but that is what caused it to fail so soon! On top of that, and like another reviewer said, the first thermometer I bought didn't even come with the batteries!! Both were bought at the store!! Very disappointed in the Holyoke Ma store!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Two batteries suppose to be in the package of product, but it already opened when I receive and no battery at all. It seems like an accident, but it was kind of annoying because I paid for it and expected not spending extra money for a battery. I'm curious it only happened to me or it happens often??? Anyway, it looks good and works well. I'm satisfied with this product, but it could be perfect if Petco was a little more careful to check each product of package before shipping even though I can guess employees may have so much work. lol
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great addition to your turtle tank, fully submersible and comes with an extra battery. Durable for when turtles try to bite it. Accurate, updates temp about every 30 seconds. It also floats when it comes detached.
I would recommend this to a friend!
