Alright for hamsters, not chinchillas

I bought the smaller size of these bowls (which isn't listed here, but can be found in stores) and she enjoyed it. When she was small, she could sit in and or perch herself on the side of it with no problem. When she got older though, I started burying it in her bedding to hold it in place so she would spill it.
I have the larger size (which this is listed as) that came with me when I rescued my chinchilla. I do NOT recommend this for a chinchilla. They will have no problem tipping it over and making the biggest mess they can. Plastic is never good in a chinchilla's cage, and the one that came with her was riddled with chew marks. So much for "sturdy plastic".
The large size is big enough for a chinchilla, rabbit, ferret, ect, but you'll most likely have to deal with them tipping it over constantly because it has no weight to it. The medium for hamsters is a bit on the small side, however.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What I have done to make these bowls acceptable is cut two holes in the side to tie onto my fuzzie's cage. This keeps the bowls in place and prevents major spillages
The bowls are very sturdy, Ive had no problem with chewing like I have in the past.
With a minor adjustment these bowls are very efficent

It works, pretty chew proof........ But my rats toss it around the whole day and they knock a lot of bedding into it which reaally irritates me. I recommend the 6 oz. bird bowls that hang from the cage. These are chew proof, dont get tossed around, and are bedding free!!!!!!!!!

My 8 week old holland lop throws this bowl around and dumps his food everywhere.
