Must Get for Any Spay/Neutered Dog

"We have a Houdini German Shepherd pup who was recently spayed. We were instructed to wear the Dr. Mengele's plastic collar for 14 days. The plastic collar lasted less than 24 hours as my dog managed to get it off and chew the thing to pieces after being left unsupervised in her crate for 5 minutes. She could not sleep in the plastic collar, bumped into everything and left some marks on the kids as she charged into them like a battering ram.
We didn't want to waste spending money on new collars for the dog. We found the comfy cone and it has worked like a charm. The dog enjoys sleeping with her own carry around pillow. While it does restrict her vision, she's currently leashed for walks and the outdoors, so it's not an issue. I highly recommend this over the plastic cone alternative as it does work well for large dogs."

"The Comfy Cone was adjustable and very comfortable for my dog-he could easily sleep in it and I could bend it back to allow him to eat in it. It did tend to get warm inside the cone so I recommend taking it off periodically to prevent ear infections. Bonus: the outside lip is reflective so your pet can be seen in the dark."

"We purchased this product to keep our dog from chewing on his paws. He was able to use the floor to help him bend the cone and reach his paws anyways. I do not recommended this product."

"My puppy had sugery on his stomach and the horrible plastic cone that the vet gave us was soooo uncomfortable for him. He would literally sleep standing up. I could tell he was miserable. I found the comfy cone online and went to Petco right away to buy it for him. As soon as I put it on him, he fell asleep. It was like a little pillow and it was easy to attach to his collar. He didn't mind having it on at alI. I know that him being as comfortable as possible was important for his recovery."

"Well made and easy to assemble. My 14-year-old Jack Russell was licking his feet and nothing seemed to help so we order the e-collar. It is comfortable for the dog and when folded back, he can eat and drink water. The only drawback was that it gave him tunnel vision and he started peeing on the floor. We think it was because he couldn't tell if he was inside or outside. When it was folded back, he could get to his front feet to lick them."

"My little 13 year old Yorkie has knee surgery, and was sent home with a stiff and hot plastic collar. We purchased comfy cone and it came the next day. What a relief price was right, and the comfort he felt would have been worth 100 times more. Perfect in every way. The edges can be turned back, so it can be sized according to the dogs needs."

"I have a 60 pound pit/hound mix who had sutures on the under side of his front right paw.
The plastic e-collars scared him and he wouldn't move!
This collar was great! He could bump into things and keep going. It seemed comfortable. I couldn't see any areas that he would be able to get at on his body with this collar on.
In fact, after I no longer needed the collar, I was showing it to a friend of mine, and Bobby came running over and stuck his head out as if he wanted it on!
The only drawback, was he couldn't hear me as well with the collar on. And it got warm around his head. Luckily I used it in the cooler months, but I think the summer would have been hot on his head."

"I actually work for Petco. When I found out my dog had to have surgery, I ran out and bought this right away. My pup and I both love it. She can hold her head up and doesn't run into things NEARLY like she did with the plastic ones. It is a tad pricey, but well made, so worth it. At Petco, if you are unhappy with a product... keep your receipt and return it. So, don't hesitate to purchase, your dog will appreciate it!"

"OK... I had hopes for this product because I absolutely HATE the standard plastic cones. Thought this was worth a shot as the concept is a LITTLE BIT better... but not much. I put it on my English Lab after surgery and he immediately was able to manipulate the SOFT collar and get around to his wound. Luckily I caught it in enough time as to not do any damage leading to another vet visit/bill. My dog is not a crazy puppy either... They just hate anything that sticks off their head. This product DOES NOT WORK - Back to the store I go..."

"The comfy cone is the greatest product. I bought it for my German Shepherd because he was having extensive surgery. He has to wear it for two weeks. We both love it. Its been 1 week so far and its been great. Its like he has a comfy pillow everytime he puts his head down. We pull it back for the short walks and for eating. He can still play with his toys, he just puts them in the cone with him. I would suggest this product for any pet that has surgery"

"I bought this for my puppy after he had surgery and it didn't work for us! It's just like an e-collar but worse! My puppy really couldn't see and he whined the entire time we had the cone on him till we took it off! I should have gotten the blue collar to begin with like I was told!"

"My dog really did not mind wearing this collar like she did the old style. She was able to sleep comfortably....even in her crate! It is very easy to put on and remove.
The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because it is a little pricey."

"Adopted 2 yr golden retreiver. Talked to 3 vets prior to neuter. None told me about dreaded hard plastic elizabethian cone. He was miserable (spent all night sitting up). Ran out and bought this the next day and while he still is not happy, it is much more comfy. Long hair does get stuck on velcro."

"This certainly is a comfy alternative to the normal plastic e-collars BUT my dog was able to manipulate the cone because of its softness and get to his stiches within 1 day of having his surgery. Certainly not worth the money if you're also having to pay money to get your dog stiched back together. =("

"My Bichon was given the plastic lampshade by the vet was miserable. He wouldn't eat, drink, sleep, and he would run around all day scraping the cone against the furniture and the floor trying to get it off. I was worried he would injure himself. I put the comfy cone on him and although he doesn't care to wear it, he has finally eaten and for the first time since his injury is resting comfortably in the cone as we speak! What a relief to the whole family. The cone is as good as it says! I highly recommend it."
