Not For Use With Leopard Geckos!
PostedSeptember 19, 2013
This stuff is awful for leopard geckos. For the naive reptile enthusiast looking to create an incredibly realistic setup, this may look like a godsend. "It's natural looking, and good for them!" you might be thinking. Well, being that there is good stuff in there, the gecko might sense it and start willingly eating the sand. That's bad news for anybody that doesn't want to either lose a gecko or spend the money on a trip to the vet for surgery. Impaction is a serious issue among these guys, and pet-store employees recommending this stuff is only worsening the issue. Please, keep them on paper towel or newspaper (repti-carpet has been known to trap teeth and toenails making for more stress on your gecko). I know it's not as pretty, but in the end your scaly buddy will be happier.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Zoo-Med Vita Sand Works Amazingly!

This sand is great! It's ultra-fine grade to make sure your pet has maximim safety! My juvenile beardie has had this sand his whole life (ever since he was a baby) and he still has it and loves it!
I would recommend this to a friend!
