Comfy, but smells funny

"My golden retriever puppy (70 pounds) really likes this bed, but it did fill the whole house with a strange smell on the first day it arrived. It must be something to do with the nano-technology used to make the fabric. It still has an odor that transfers onto my dog, but he doesn't seem to mind it. He likes cuddling up in it (when he's not humping it or dragging it around the living room). The only other thing is that the cushion on the inside is rectangular while the bed is round so it's not quite a good fit. The cushion is also not attached so my puppy likes to dismantle it. Other than that, good bed for a great price (~$50)."

"We had been having trouble with the dog getting up on the furniture at night. She wanted to curl up against something. Her previous bed was a big pillow and didn't have any sides on it. I saw this bed advertised and since it was on sale it was even better. Since getting the bed, she hasn't gotten up on the furniture at all. She just wanted something to snuggle in!"

Chemical Smell

"I had to return this dog bed to the store as when I openened it up it had a nasty chemical smell that reminded me of when my dog's glands need to be expressed. I let it air our for about a week but the smell did not dissipate. I thought of washing it but didnt want to risk not being able to return it.
Its too bad cause it was a nice dog bed, but maybe the smell is why they were marked down half price."

"Bought the beds and really excited to get them.... they have been in the garage for a week not because they smelt so bad. I am trying to air/febreeze them out before I bring them in the house. They look like they are going to be nice once i can get teh smell out of them"

"Purchased this bed based on the reveiews. It is well made but sizing seems off. Our pup weighs about 16 lbs. and barely fits the small which lists as 27". My measurement is 23" maybe 24" if you stretch it out and that's the outside dims. so the inside bed is much smaller. Will return to a local store and consider a larger size. It does need to 'air out' as it has a strong odor as noted by another reviewer."

"The first night we had it one of our cats tried to claim it as her own in the urinary sense, the spray didn't soak in at all, rolled into a dimple, and wicked right up with a paper towel. There is absolutely no way to stain this bed, and if you somehow do, its washable! Super soft, and our dog loves it. We've had it a while now and absolutely no dog smell."

Great Purchase

"I have owned inside dogs for 30 years and have gone through many beds. I feel a dogs bed should be clean, roomy, comfy and durable. This bed proves to be all of those things. My current dog loves this bed for many reasons but the main one is the fact that he can rest his head on the raised sides as he loves to have his head on a pillow. I will probably order another for a new puppy that is coming into our home."

"Besides the fact that this exact same item is selling at any Petco store for $12 less than what I just paid, the item came with the WORST odor ever!
When I returned it to the store the manager said it would hane to be distroyed.

"Got this bed for our "old lady" dog. Within 5 minutes of putting in on the floor, the younger dog had claimed it for her own. There are 3 other beds in the apt, including a bolster bed, but this is by far the coveted one. Not only does the dog have something to lean up against, she can rest her head on the top in any position and, even better, she has a place for her paws to push against. The removable bottom section also satisfies the older dog's need to "fluff it up"."

"The Dog Gone Smart Bed that I bought from Petco is truly amazing. It stays clean so much longer than other beds my dog has used in the past. Everyother bed I have bought in the past smells within a few weeks. This bed doesn't have the doggie odor at all. My dog absolutely loves it, and lays in it all the time! It is great that Petco now carries such an exeptional bed! I highly recommend the bed to anyone who has a dog."
