Canine Heritage Breed Test?!? Really?!?
Date: December 24, 2008
"i am so disappointed. I can't believe I wasted good, hard earned money. Don't be a fool like I was!!! I have a Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix, so prominantly so that everyone at the dog park already knows he's a CORGI! the results are in people: Bernese Mountain Dog and Akita. WOW! Really?!? Also, I have a Whippet/Border Collie mix...results: Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Chow Chow. Hmm...I think not. I wasted, WASTED $140 *plus shipping and handling...I AM A FOOL."

Not Reliable or Accurate
Date: November 19, 2008
"My puppy had a single breed mom and an unknown father, and he has webbed feet and resembles a black lab, so much so that most people assume he is a lab. The DNA result came back with a primary breed far removed from his appearance, size, and behavior and no mention/trace of his mom's DNA; my vet laughed when he heard the result. Don't waste your money."

Waste of Money
Date: October 1, 2008
"After waiting forever for my test results, I finally got them back and they were ridiculous! I know for a fact that my dog has a purebred Beagle father, and this test showed no signs of Beagle at all! Talked to my vet and she tested my baby with a blood test, said it should be more accurate. The results came quickly and guess what, they found Beagle in my baby boy. He also has traces of Dachshund and German Shepherd. I totally see those traits too. Don't waste your money on this cheap imitation dog DNA test. If you really want to know what your dog is, do it right the first time."

Not Worth The Money
Date: August 21, 2008
"After 4 weeks of anxiously waiting to find out the results of the DNA test. I received the certificate with a Primary Breed of "Untested Breed", Nothing in Secondary and Nothing In the Mix. I just want people to know that you may get the test results and certificate and know nothing more than you did before."

"we purchased a puppy and was told he was a cockapoo. but at 6 months he sure doesn't look like one, my friend said he looks cocker/border collie, and sure enough that's what he is. the kit was very easy and the results were back within a week."

Who would have thought?!
Date: August 2, 2008
"We had this test done on our "brown dog" out of sheer curiosity. We had our best guesses all lined up for what the results would show - but none of us were close! We had prepared ourselves for some sort of shepherd-ish or maybe even greyhound or whippet breeds. What came back was doberman, beagal, chesapeake bay retriever and unidentified terrier! We all were stunned. What a great way to unveil some of the mystery of our best puppy boy's history."

Excellent Technology & Accuracy
Date: July 30, 2008
"We recently submitted and received back the Canine Heritage Test results from Metamorphix for our Weimeraner. We got her from a Weimeraner Rescue Program in St. Louis. As such, we were unsure of her genetic background. The test results showed Weim (primary), English Setter (secondary) and a trace of Doberman. All of this made sense in terms of what I've observed in her behaviour and features. The Canine Heritage Test exceeded our expecations in terms of the entire process from the actual swab test, turnaround time and the quality/accuracy of the results. Very cost effective too!"

Puzzle Puppy

"This product is wonderful! For years my firends and family have played a guessing game for the breed of my dog. Now we know and it was very easy- just a quick swab of her cheek and mail it away. Don't forget to send in a picture online so your certificate can also have your dog's picture. Great gift idea for others with a puppy puzzle too!"

So Helpful!
Date: July 28, 2008
"I used this canine heritage breed test on my dog that we found as a puppy wandering the streets. She now is full grown and looks like a labrador puppy (permanently). No Vet could tell us what she was, so we did the test. It was so great to find out exactly what she was and the test was not intrusive at all. It's not a complicated blood test or anything, as I was expecting. It's just a simple swab of her cheek. So easy!"
