Looking for a good brand dog food

"I own a chicuahua/ and a mixed breed dog both small one weighs 6lbs and my mixed breed weighs 21lbs. My mixed breed dog has some hair loss due to Alleries that could be from his food or from grass. The vet isn't quite sure what he is allergic too. Do you make you own food? Id like to try it first before purcahsing a big bag. I would have to try it on my own dogs' first before I recemended it to a friend."
