"OK let me start with the pluses:
Plenty big enough for two rats to run and play in
The two doors make it easy to access everything
Sturdy
Easy assembly
Now the Negetives:
The bottom is not deep enough
Hard to remove the wire cage from the base, and you will get filthy hands doing so
The bottom latter won't stay on
The mesh wire is hard to clean"

"I just got this cage a couple of weeks ago and I have to say, I was worried that it would be hard to set up due to its size. It was REALLY easy! The instructions were great and I got it up in no time. Also, it is HUGE! I was expecting something fairly large, but this baby is an absolute monster. I know my two female rats are going to love it :) It's really fun picking out everything to put inside it; I'm just wondering what I should put on the levels to prevent bumblefoot or whatever its called. I've had two rats before, and I just used an aquarium. this is SO much easier and I'm sure they'd prefer it to that glass box. If you're hesitant to purchase this because of the price, I would go for it. I'd say this is a great investment."

"I recieved the rat manor today and the box was in rough shape. But I started pulling the cage pieces out and everything was fine & unbent. It only took me maybe 10 minutes to assemble, not very difficult, no tools besides your hands needed. My 2 boys love it and I have another 2 boys that are only 5 weeks old that will hopefully join them in another month. It's big, fun, looks easy to clean. Just remember to cover the landings to prevent bumble foot in your pets. I highly reccomend it."

"I bought this cage online and recieved it very quickly. My kids and I put it together within 10 to 15 mins. My rattie girls love there new home. The bar spacing is small enough for young ratties. Of course nothing is perfect and I'm sure some things could always be better but this is a good cage. It's not to bad to clean either, it takes about 10 mins. depending on how messy your pets are. You just lift the top off the bottom part, empty out the shavings wip it down and replace shavings with new. Not that bad. I will be getting two more of these cages in the future."

"I got the Rat Manor for my two rat boys and I HATE it!!! It is VERY hard to clean and stuff getsin between the wires that the shelves are made of. The shelves and the middle floor are not sturdy at all. I hate that you have to take everything out of the cage a lift it off of its base just to replace the bedding!! Do NOT get the if you do all I have to say is "I warned you"."

"this cage is a good enough cage for my 3 female rats. they enjoy the multi levels but I am worried they may get bumblefoot but so far they have had no problems.. the only hard thing to do with the cage is to make sure the sides dont unlatch witch is fixable by breadties. i Love the Fact that the Doors Double latch so the rats dont get out and the other animals cant get in. Over all this is a good Cage for Multiple Rats and Please dont Leavea rat a loner. =)"

"I just adopted two rats who had never been in a cage before and they absolutely LOVE it. They jump around from level to level, and climb on the sides. It's got plenty of room for another rat, which I'll get soon. I'd definitely recommend this for any rat owner and lover."

"I bought this cage for my two rats and we all love it. The only problem is that the wire mesh shelves cause bumblefoot which is extremely painful for rats. I fixed this by placing plexi glass (with edges I sanded smooth) on the shelves and clipping to the side of the cage with bull clips. I also replaced the wire ladders with wooden ladders that are meant for birds. This is much safer and they appreciate it. I keep my cage on the floor and the boys LOVE climbing to the top! If you do this, make sure they have a safe way down instead of trying to climb back down. Overall, a wonderful home for 2-3 rats!"

"It is so refreshing to find a company like Petco that sees rats as something besides snake food! I understand that snakes have to eat too, but I have been to other pet stores that look at me like I'm crazy if I ask for rat supplies, and tell me that they don't sell food/toys for these "feeders." How horrible!
The cage it HUGE, and it took me about 20 minute to put together, and arrived quickly. The cage doors latch securely, which is a big deal to me, because rats tend to figure out how to unlatch some cages. I got this cage as a gift, and after 6 months I bought a second one to replace another cage. The value on these cages are great, and can easily fit 2-3 rats (please don't keep rats alone! They get lonely.)
The floors are mesh, but you can always put cardboard or paper down to protect their feet against bumblefoot. These cages are also great to hang hammocks in, as well as other toys.
This is an awesome cage, and can fit lots of toys. Your rats will be very happy here."

"The prior review on this cage were correct. More than likely you will say words that you normally wouldnt while setting this one up. It is rather cumbersome to figure out the shelving system, but once in place it is definately worth it. Large enough for 3 maybe 4 rats, well constructed. The bottom of the cage keeps all the mess inside and the bar spaceing and shelve floors are the ideal width."

"I am new to the whole rat as a pet thing but when I ordered this cage it exceeded my expectations. It is super easy to put together if you even just glance at or read the directions. Someone said the dimensions are wrong but that is not true it is taller than it is wider. Its very easy to clean and access your rat no matter where they are trying to hide and there is plenty of room for toys. I think its an awesome purchase."

"This cage is wonderful for my 2 rats. I call it their rattie mansion!! There is probably enough room for another rat. Easy to assemble and clean. It has so much room that options for cage accessories are endless!! I love to rearrange the toys and hammock ... they go crazy exploring, thinking that it is a new cage!!! The cage sits perfectly on top of a small bookcase. Price was great. Highly recommend!"

"My parents and I looked at alot of different cages for my "babygirl". Most of them were made of alot of plastic parts. If you know rats then you know that they love to chew ANYTHING plastic and those multi-level ramps and cage bases would be reduced to no more than an oversized chew toy. Also, my mom would have a cow if "Lucy" chewed her way out of the cage! If you look at reviews for those plastic-made cages you can see where alot of owners had issues with that.
This Rat Manor was the ONLY cage we found that was all metal with no plastic. We had it put together in about 20 minutes flat and had to only make 1 adjustment when my dad put the middle floor in backwards. Its very sturdy, had all the cool ramps and LOTS of room for wheels, igloos and chew toys for my baby. This is hands down THE ONLY cage to get. It was also $10 cheaper than the comparative plastic-made cage that will not hold up like this one. GET THIS CAGE!"

A Bit Frustrating to Assemble.

"When my fiance and I purchased this for our pet rats (which we'll hopefully be getting in the middle of January), we had a bit of a problem unfolding it. The hooks necessary for keeping the corners together, were hooked under bars on the other sides of the cage, making it VERY difficult to figure out at first. With a bit of prodding and pulling we finally got it to work. Other than that the product is great. It has a nice deep base, for plenty of wood shavings. It's also very roomy and accommodated our wheel and igloo quite well on the bottom level. The cage itself, when assembled, is very sturdy and can be carried securely by the handles on the sides. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. A bit pricey for my taste, but it looks clean and nice, and it's well built. Can't wait for our new additions. :]"

"I have been looking for a larger cage for my brother's rat for a few months now and decided on this due to the levels and size (and sale!).
Our rat loves it! She spent all evening climbing and rearranging and has now set up shop on the second level so that she can watch us better. The package came very quickly and was in fine shape. The edges were ripped a little, but the cage was fine. The assembly was also easy!"

My baby rats love it!!

"I have two female baby rats. They were in a smaller cage, but I knew they would soon need something larger. I saw this cage online and decided to get it. I am in Hawaii, so I was worried about the shipping...but, the cage came in great condition, everything was wrapped nicely in the box and nothing was broken or bent. The instructions were a little confusing at first, but once I figured it out it was easy and quick to put together. The bar spaces on the cage were small so my babies couldn't squeeze through. It was easy to put the shelves and ramps together, and there were tons of open spaces to hang hammocks and toys, and also put in a big wheel. The cage easily comes out of the base for easy cleaning, and the two doors on the front make it easy to acces the inside the cage. My babies love running up and down, and crawling all over the cage...they will get tons of exercise. I am very happy with my purchase of this cage, and I would recommend it to everyone!"
