Perfect Cage for a Rat (or 2, or 3) Date: January 1, 2009
"My parents and I looked at alot of different cages for my "babygirl". Most of them were made of alot of plastic parts. If you know rats then you know that they love to chew ANYTHING plastic and those multi-level ramps and cage bases would be reduced to no more than an oversized chew toy. Also, my mom would have a cow if "Lucy" chewed her way out of the cage! If you look at reviews for those plastic-made cages you can see where alot of owners had issues with that.
This Rat Manor was the ONLY cage we found that was all metal with no plastic. We had it put together in about 20 minutes flat and had to only make 1 adjustment when my dad put the middle floor in backwards. Its very sturdy, had all the cool ramps and LOTS of room for wheels, igloos and chew toys for my baby. This is hands down THE ONLY cage to get. It was also $10 cheaper than the comparative plastic-made cage that will not hold up like this one. GET THIS CAGE!"

A Bit Frustrating to Assemble. Date: December 22, 2008
"When my fiance and I purchased this for our pet rats (which we'll hopefully be getting in the middle of January), we had a bit of a problem unfolding it. The hooks necessary for keeping the corners together, were hooked under bars on the other sides of the cage, making it VERY difficult to figure out at first. With a bit of prodding and pulling we finally got it to work. Other than that the product is great. It has a nice deep base, for plenty of wood shavings. It's also very roomy and accommodated our wheel and igloo quite well on the bottom level. The cage itself, when assembled, is very sturdy and can be carried securely by the handles on the sides. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. A bit pricey for my taste, but it looks clean and nice, and it's well built. Can't wait for our new additions. :]"

More than we expected! Date: December 10, 2008
"I have been looking for a larger cage for my brother's rat for a few months now and decided on this due to the levels and size (and sale!).
Our rat loves it! She spent all evening climbing and rearranging and has now set up shop on the second level so that she can watch us better. The package came very quickly and was in fine shape. The edges were ripped a little, but the cage was fine. The assembly was also easy!"

excellent!!! Date: November 16, 2008
"I have 10 rats and I bought two of these to split of the boys and girls. The cage provides more than enough room, it is durable, convenient, not completely unattractive, and a decent price. Easy to assemble."

My baby rats love it!! Date: October 30, 2008
"I have two female baby rats. They were in a smaller cage, but I knew they would soon need something larger. I saw this cage online and decided to get it. I am in Hawaii, so I was worried about the shipping...but, the cage came in great condition, everything was wrapped nicely in the box and nothing was broken or bent. The instructions were a little confusing at first, but once I figured it out it was easy and quick to put together. The bar spaces on the cage were small so my babies couldn't squeeze through. It was easy to put the shelves and ramps together, and there were tons of open spaces to hang hammocks and toys, and also put in a big wheel. The cage easily comes out of the base for easy cleaning, and the two doors on the front make it easy to acces the inside the cage. My babies love running up and down, and crawling all over the cage...they will get tons of exercise. I am very happy with my purchase of this cage, and I would recommend it to everyone!"

Awesome Cage! Date: October 12, 2008
"This was my first multilevel, larger cage. To begin with, I bought it because it was fairly large for it's inexpensive price, and I couldn't afford any other. I wasn't disappointed! When I moved my rats in, they ran from the bottom level, right up to the top, over and over. They loved all the space. I ended up taking out the ramps, because they're young rats, and they don't mind hopping, or climbing; they actually like the workout!

It was pretty difficult to get together. Took me a good hour and a half, before my boyfriend started helping me.

The only major beef I had with this cage were the small doors. Given, there are two of them, it's mighty difficult to get a hold of a rat when it's set on hiding up in one of the topmost corners."

This Thing Is HUGE Date: October 12, 2008
"Ok, so I'm new to this whole pet rat thing, right? Well, I was about to settle for a small cage when I ran across this beauty. The price was a little bit much, but the sale docked it down to something a little more reasonable. So I put in the order and nervously waited for it to come. I was a little worried because I had heard a few packaging complaints- I just knew my brand new expensive cage would come to me in broken bits and pieces.

The cage arrived and I was disappointed to see the aweful packaging. Only it's box protected it from the shipping adventure. Luckily only a few holes were dug into the box. That and it was OPENED. But the cage wasn't hurt, aside from a few very minor tears in the mesh wire and some warping on the bottom of the cage. I was lucky. Very lucky.

But I assembled it anyway. It's HUGE. Sitting next to it, I saw that it was a little bit taller than myself. Carrying it upstairs I realized it just barely made it through the hallway and my door. The thing is absolutely massive. Lots of room for interior decorating, ladies.

It was easy to assemble (if you read the directions), has a ton of space that rats will love, and three levels of height.

However, I hated the condition it arrived in and feel that for the price I paid it should have come in PERFECT condition. And also, the level are made of mesh wire, which we all know will damage rat feet. So I'm having to go to the store today to purchase linolium tile to cover the surface.

Aside from it's faults, it's a wonderful cage. I see a long and happy future for it and I can't wait to put the little furries in there. I would definately recommend it for anyone and everyone who is interested in small animals."

Nice Cage, Annoying Clean Date: October 12, 2008
"This is really a beautiful cage and my little rat family loves it. Luckily for them they dont have to CLEAN it. This one's balconies and levels come unsnapped every time I try to clean the cage and its a real pain to get them back in again. Sometimes the rats even manage to unsnap the balconies themselves! The girls are big enough that they dont need the ramps though, but I suppose its nice for an animal that cant climb as well to have them. However I do think its a good cage for it's price range."

My Hamster Loves This Date: September 29, 2008
"I bought this cage 6 days ago. Wasn't sure if we were going to keep it or not. My 10 yr. old daugther hasn't decided if she wanted a rat or hamster. We ended up buying a 10 wk old Teddy Bear Hamster 3 days ago. Miss. Bella Ella (Bella for short) loves her huge 4 story home. She's not to small to squeeze through the wires. It is perfect for her. She has tons and tons of room to play in. It is so much better then those small hamsters cages you see for sale. The cage is extremely sturdy and easy to put together. We lined all the upper floors with paper towels so it will be easier on Miss. Bella Ella's feet. She's not chewing up the paper towels yet.
We couldn't have bought a better cage for the price we paid. We bought Bella lots of toys, huts to hide in and a wheel for her. She has something fun on every level of her new giant home. Were having so much fun watching her play while taming and training her. One thing though. The cage measurements say it is 32 inches long and 22 1/2 wide. It is reversed. The company needs to change that.
Thanks for much,
CLM & TBF Fallbook, Ca."

4 Different Sized Rats Date: August 23, 2008
"I have 4 rats of very different sizes; a 2 month old, 4 month old, 1 year old who is also a naked, and a 2 year old. I had problems looking for a cage that would hold all my little ones, the cages were either WAY TO SMALL or they were big but for ferrets and this means my babys would be able to squeeze out of the bars.
This cage is big enough for my little ratties and lets me get from one level to another with ease thanks to the double doors. It is easy to open from the outside unlike the spring lock cages. Its wire level bottoms are tightly held into place so no fear of them breaking, and they are also closer together then most wire levels. The side wiring is small enough that my babys cant get out which is great news for all the baby rats out there! And this cage was a nice sized for my 4 rats and was not as expencive as the other cages out there. For a wire cage this is a really great one!.
The bad things about this cage is that is was a little confusing to put together. My rats keep droping the first ramp, the others ramps in this cage are really tight and held into place but the first one only has 2 hooks to hold it into place. And also the ramps and levels are not the safty ramps. and have the wire bottom (which can cause some rats to get sores on there feet, im unsure of this feature because of my naked rat who is sensitive.)
Over all it was a great cage that I can work with and make into a Rattie home. Great price and a great size for all 4 rats."

Spacious but flimsy Date: August 7, 2008
"The cage is spacious, I do have a few girls in this cage and they have plenty of room to run around, but I do have to say this cage isn't very well built in my opinion. It was very annoying to put together though it was simple to put together. For example the shelves and ladders were simple to put in but to get them to stay where they were supposed to was another story. I eventually took them out all together and replaced with wooden bird ladders and wood.
It does not have a door on the top of the cage, there are two doors on the side though. With my girls I think having an opening on the top of the cage would be useful as well. In the store, this cage was more expensive and I honestly don't think this cage is worth as much money as I saw it listed as because it's just flimsy, though it is made of metal, which is safer for my rats than plastic.
The cage is spacious, I'll give it that, and can comfortably house my girls, but only after we reinforced it and took out the shelves and ladders that came with it. After that it became a much more useful cage for us."
