"I bought this cage for my two girls after considering the other in-store options and getting feedback from the store's manager. I must say, it was probably the best decision I've made so far!
The cage snapped together quickly and feels secure, although the ramps took a bit of finagling to get right. I love that the tray is metal rather than a chewable plastic, and the wire floors are small enough to not catch on their feet. The doors are large enough to maneuver well and get most everything in and out, and the double clips are great for my peace of mind. Another plus is the fact that I can separate the levels by pulling up and tying the ramp to the second level. It's been a great help while introducing my newest girl to the other two!
The only downsides are that the metal base warps given enough time, and the lowest ramp always gets knocked loose.
Overall a great product if you have a few rats, well worth the price!"

"My rats love the new cage! It has plenty of room and they enjoy running up and down the ramps. I was surprised at how light it is without giving up any of its integrity in design or durability. Overall the cage weighs about 25 lbs. It also has to handles on the top which make it very easy to move when cleaning or re-locating them. The only complaint I have is the the ramps tend to get knocked over every now and then but that is easily fixed with a single zip tie where each ramp meets at the top of each level. Overall, this cage is a great buy for the price and easily houses 2-3 rats. Would definitely recommend this cage as an upgrade or starter cage."

"I bought the MANOR last week and it really lives up to it's name. The size is perfect! The large space gives my big guy room to stretch out and run around. Because it is tall it is not too obtrusive in our room. The wire tiers allow the "nasty" to fall to the bottom and reduces the smell. Our other cage has plastic tiers and it is not so nice. My son put it best when he saw it for the first time...I wish I was a rat. :)"

Great cage for active rats

"I adopted two young rats and the woman i got them from recommended getting this cage. It only took 2 days for the cage to be delivered (i'm in Los Angeles) and my rats love it! It looks a lot smaller than it is in the pictures. I put it on the ground and it was waist high on me. It was fairly easy to put together, and it gives my rats tons of space. I've since added a lot of toys and such in there for them. The mesh is close enough that they don't get their feet stuck in it, and they love climbing on the wire. The only issue is the bottom ramp keeps coming undone with their running around under it, but they don't mind because they just jump to the next level!
I will say the bottom is a bit cluncky and it's hard to take it off to clean sometimes, bot otherwise a great cage. I would recommend it for rats!"

"This was a lifesaver! She chewed through her old cage and we needed a new one fast. She took a little time to adjust to the wire flooring but she swings all over now. Easy to clean and easy to move around. We love ours!!"

"This is the best rat cage I have seen on the internet or in a store. The all metal construction is great. Plenty of room for the rats to play. My rats love it. Most sites charge high shipping rates but here it is either free or extremely cheap."

"I hav to female rats and they love this cage. rats love to run and jump and play so this cage keeps them entertained. the first cage i had, they could squeeze through the bars, but they couldn't with this one. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I WOULD HAVE TO SAY would be that wen my rats run the bedding flies out of the cage. But other than that, its great,. Its fairly easy to clean and well worth the money!"

"I bought this for my degus as it is probably the only chewproof alternative to a glass tank I have found. I've searched online everywhere, and this is by far the best deal (and only cage that does not have some kind of plastic component). It was pretty simple to put together, is fairly easy to clean, and provides room for degus to climb and run about. The downside is that I wish there was a flip top lid to make access to the second level a little more open (hard to get a decent size wheel onto the second story as it won't fit through the door). The only downside are the wire floors (which I remedy by using some fabric that can be washed when I clean the cage) and the fact that feces can fall out of the second story onto the floor (again, remedied by putting a little bit of fabric/screen around the second level so it falls to the first floor). Overall it's a great cage for degus. I now own four of these!"

"this cage is great, a little hard to put together by yourself, when shipped some of the bars got bent, and was hard to get them apart. the levels i ended up having to zip tie because they would come loose from the rats running and climbing around. Great exercise, and fun to watch the rats in this cage."

"this cage is the perfect size for my 2 med size dumbo rats, the only problem i have with it is it is SOO hard to clean!! it was a little time consuming to put together and the platforms were a little annoying too but it was worth it because my little guys have plenty of room to run and play!!"

"I have had my Rat Manor for almost a year. I loved it at first. It is large and I love the black bars.
However it is kind of a pain to clean because the shelves don't line up correctly. And the pan isn't quite deep enough. My boys end up flinging stuff all over the floor.
I'm getting the Critter Nation cage for my boys this week and will be using the Rat Manor for my girls. I hope it works out better with them than it has for the boys."

"After a lot of research, I bought this cage and am very pleased with it. The nearest equivalent, from Martins Cages, is quite a bit more expensive.

Sturdy IF put together properly. If it feels rickety, you've missed something.

Powder coated. Large enough doors. Good bar spacing for young rats. Room for 2 large or 3-4 smaller rats. Room for 11- or 12-inch wheel. Good ventilation. No chewable plastic parts!
MINOR CONS:
May not lock firmly into base - to move the whole cage, lift it from the bottom rather than by the handles.

Must be lifted off base to clean. (If you're getting your hands dirty doing this, you aren't cleaning often enough or you should consider another type of litter or liner.) Handles make this fairly easy.
Shelves are wire that could cause foot problems. It's easy to make carpets for all or part of the shelves, using plastic embroidery canvas or even old towels/clothes. I recommend cheap wooden bird ladders (Petco has these) to replace the ramps for foot safety. Some rats have no problems with wire, especially if it is kept CLEAN.
Shelves may be movable by very ambitious rats. Consider adding wire ties in a couple of spots.
Check carefully - mine had a sharp wire exposed on one shelf. It bent flat with pliers.
Overall, this is a great deal on a spacious cage."
