"After reading the reviews I was a little iffy about this cage, but I figured it was cheap enough that if it wasn't that great, I'd just get a better one..but I was wrong. This starter kit is awesome, it has the best bedding you can use (carefresh) and the best food you can get..not to mention Penfield (my teddy bear hammy) looovvesss the treat bar..I never tried the water bottle because everyone said it leaked, so I just got another one that never leaks and penfield loves it. The wheel can get a bit annoying at nite because it was bent when it came out of the box so it runs a little funny and it doesn't seem to be completely secure against the bars of his cage, but I sleep like a rock so it doesn't bother me one bit (though it drives my fiance nuts so he's getting him a new one this week) The cage is completely escape-proof, I got Penfield when he was about 8-9 weeks and though he was tiny, he just couldn't fit through the bars. I like how tall the cage is as well, it gave me room to move the 2nd story up some when Penfield started growing, and add a nice long kabob treat stick from the ceiling. The only thing I don't like is Penfield will outgrow the cage because even though it's tall, the width isn't very impressive..but for right now he fits it fine but I know within a few weeks I'll need to get him a bigger one with a bigger floor. But for a starter kit for a baby teddy bear (syrian) or 2 dwarf hammies it would be perfect for them. I'd suggest it to anyone just starting out with a baby hammy."
