"I'm impressed. I have three cats, ages 13, 12 and 3. The oldest and youngest do not go outside at all so I had to maintain two litter boxes at all times and I was getting really tired of the smell, the dust, the constant scooping and flushing, the tracking of litter, etc. I was really close to spending $300 on one of those CatGenies, even though I couldn't be guaranteed that the little darlings would even use it, especially the oldest cat who is very easily spooked. Then I saw an ad for the Tidy Cat Breeze system and thought, why not? If they don't use it at all I'm not out that much money.
Suffice it to say that the youngster used it right away with no problems, the easily-spooked oldster took to it relatively quickly, and just yesterday I saw Middle Kitty, the unflappable tortie who usually does her business outside, using it.
There is no stink except for just after the cat defecates, and that dissipates within a minute or two, and that's saying something because my older two cats prefer the smelly fishy wet food that results in hazmat. As long as you are diligent about changing the pad regularly there is no urine odor. Every couple of days I just scoop the feces onto some old newspaper, roll it up and toss it into the trash, but I am going to order a second box in a few minutes and will try placing that in the bathroom so the scoopings can be flushed.
I guess the fifty or so pounds of clay litter that I still have for the old-fashioned litter boxes can go in the trunk of the car for added weight and traction for winter driving."
