"We bought this today as our new kitty has quite a bit more energy than our 8 year old part sloth cat, and the toys we had were immediately destroyed. So far its been great for her and keeps her entertained. The only drawback I can foresee is that it can be pushed down hallways if your flooring is laminate or hardwood, which at wee hours in the morning I can bet is a bit annoying. If my feeling changes I'll update the post."

"My cat had a blast with this at first, but eventually got board of it. If I take it away for a few days and give it back to her, she'll play with it, but not like she did when I first got it. She never used the scratch pad in the middle even with the cat nip. Other much less expensive toys (i.e. looney loops) she plays with on a regular basis."

"The Bergen Star Chaser cat toy is an amazing combination of excellent construction, and producing curiosity and mystery. The Star Chaser is sturdy, the center cardboard is an utter delight for the cats to scratch and scratch when they change from batting the flashing ball around the circle. The edges of this wonderfully crafted toy are round and smooth, and the cats can attack and play with complete abandon. And believe me, they do!"

"Cats can play by themselves, great for when you aren't around. Also, my cats get so excited playing with it, they like to scratch to get out some of their energy too. It works the other way around too, sometimes my cats come over for a scratch and the ball moves, which gets them excited to play."

"My young cat has zero interest in this toy, but she spends most of her time outdoors. My old and arthritic cat doesn't like the outdoors and will not play with any toy that involves leaping and chasing, for obvious reasons. However, with this toy, she can just lie there and bat that lighted ball over and over. I've had this a month now and she scratches it every time she wakes up from a nap. She plays with the ball at least 4 times a day for 5 to 10 minutes per session. She will also play with it in the middle of the night, so I have to remove it if I want to get any sleep. Even I like to give it a twirl every now and then!"

"my kitten loves this toy. he plays with it for hours when im too busy doing work to play. he finds the light very interesting, and has been trying to figure out exactly what makes the light in the ball turn on and off. its very cute to watch him try to figure it out. i didn't even realize that the toy had a light in it i was buying one because my sister had recommended it. anyway this was a pleasant suprise for both me and kitty!"

"OMG my cat is 12 yrs old & absolutely LOVES this thing! She plays with it every single day (or night too lol ) It took her a couple days to start scratchig the pad, but she loves that also. I have tried other scratching posts and toys with no luck. I think I'd better get another ball to save for when this one goes out 'cause I can't imagine her not having her ball in there to play with. She even runs charging at it back & forth.... too funny!"

"as soon as I put it on the floor out of the box my kitten wouldnt stop playing with it. Its been a full 20 mins so far. She even uses the scratch pad. My little french bulldog likes it also.. but she has her own toys so it wasnt encouraged :) def worth every penny tho!!!"

"We started using these when they first came out. There are eight cats in our house and they all love this product. It exercises their claws while entertaining them at the same time.
Recently we had one delivered to my daughter who has four cats. She is delighted to see her guys enjoy it so much.

"I *LOVE* this toy. I get it as gifts for all of my friends with cats. My ferrets play with it, too. The female will chase the ball (especially if half the track is covered with anything) and the male will sratch away. You can extend the life of the cardboard fillers by flipping them over and popping them back in. If you want to add satisfaction to your animal's day, pop the ball out I balance on top of the track."
