"This item is wonderful. Our house stays warm at last! We now don't have to leave the door open. It looks great and is a good quality. It's glass and some that I looked at were plexy glass, and the quality was not as good."

"The pet door arrived in about three weeks, and was excellent. A quick install, the only difficulty was the weather stripping included was about a foot short of the door length, a quick stop at the hardware store for a roll ($3.50) and all was well."

"This is a very well made patio panel door and was also very easy to install. I'm impressed with the tight fit....almost needs no weather seal, although it is supplied. Our cats LOVE it also. I built a completely enclosed deck retreat for 'em, but as the weather is gettin colder here in the northeast, we've had to close the patio doors. Now, with the Petsafe Patio Panel Pet Door, they have the freedom to go in and out, but we stay warm and toasty indoors. Add to this the discounted Petco price...and FREE shipping... it's a no brainer! Thanks Petco!"

"We are very happy with this door, and the cats are using it well. It is on the sliding door between our living room and sun room, so I can not say how well it keeps out the cold.
The papers say that it fits doors as short as 76 3/4", ours is 77" but it did not fit over the lip of the bottom track until we pulled out the adjuster at the top. So it does not block all airflow but since it is not on an outside door we don't mind.
I called the manufacturer with the fit issue and the representative knew exactly what the problem was, but said they were not looking at redesigning the door a little shorter.
A great door for much less than other vendors, and the brown matches the sliding door and blends in well to the room."

"Semi-easy install but you need to buy a lot more weather stripping as it does not come with enough. The weathershield or weatherguard that you are supposed to put on your patio door to keep air from getting out fell off within 10 min - just a cheap glue strip to hold it on which does not work. Otherwise it's a good purchase at the most decent price I could find on the internet and they delivered right to my door."

"I just put in this doggie door and I think it is worth it when you consider the alternative of going through a wall. The weather stripping that goes on the sliding glass door fell off after about one hour. I had cleaned the surface, applied their strip, which holds with double face tape, and when I looked an hour later the rubber material was laying at the bottom, in the door's track. Over all it is good."

"I purchased this door after measuring the door opening as described. I even had a friend double check for me becuase of the price. My friend was not impressed when the unit arrived and is 3/4" to big for the door. What they meant to say is to measure the smallest opening from the top of the bottom track to the bottom of the top track not the door opening itself. I have seen a lot of these for sale second hand because they do not fit. Seems like if they allowed an additional inch in the opening people could actually use these. Now I have a useless doggy door that cost me $200. I will never purchase another PetSafe product again."

Great Pet Door

"I purchased this door on-line. It took longer than I thougt it would because it came from the factory. Anyway, I just got it yesterday and the door was very easy to install. Please remember to remove the cardboard stuck inside the top section or it won't adjust. It fits nicely but I think I will probably purchase thicker weather stripping, but that's my own personal choice. Theirs is probably adequate. So, at first I took the cat out and put his food and litter box out there. Stayed with him for awhile and he went back inside on his own, just pushed through. Did this numerous times throughout the evening. then late at night I kinda' pushed him halfway through and then he went the rest of the way. Did this about 3 times. Each time he would come back through on his own. Holding the flap open did not work with him. Went to bed and hoped for the best, because I left his litter box out there. He woke me at 2AM and I took him to the door again and put only his head through and he went out and did his business and came back in. This morning I put his food out there and he hesitantly went through the door by himself. He has now gone through 2 more times that I saw. I wanted this door because I just moved from a townhouse to an apartment and don't have anything like a laundry room to keep the box and don't want it in my bathroom. This way it is on the balcony and since I am on the third floor I am not worried about him jumping off. He can sit out and watch the birds and when it gets warmer he can sun himself. Very happy with this door."

"This door gives me peace of mind. I know that my doggie can go potty whenever he feels like. Or just go and sit outside, lay down on the grass for a while, if he feels like.
It was really easy to install, maybe 10 minutes. It fitted perfectly our sliding patio door and they look perfect together. My dog is 3 years old and he learned in less than 1 day how to use it. He was happy to be able to choose when to go outside.
When I was looking for a doggie door, I asked for estimates from different contractors. The cheapest estimate I got was $600.00. Well, this Petco door cost me only $200.00. It’s a win-win.
I got the XL size even though my lab is only $80 lbs. It fits him perfectly. Still, if you have a really chubby dog, it might be a problem with him being able to fit through the door."
