"Somehow my cat figured out how to use a doggy door on her own, so I didn't think we'd have trouble with the cat door. But we are.
The first issue we ran into is that the magnet is so strong, it takes some actual effort to open the door. Second issue is that the door is opaque, so she can't see through it to know that what she wants is on the other side. She keeps pawing at the clear plastic on each side of the door. I ended up taking the metal piece off the door so that it doesn't latch and she didn't get quite as mad at me when I shoved her head through it to show her what to do.
After 2 days, I think she's starting to get the hang of it, but it still takes some coaxing to get her to come back inside.
Once she figures it out, I will put the metal piece back in and hope she can still open the door. I don't want that thing swinging in the wind all winter long.
As far as installation goes, it was pretty easy until we installed the brackets that keep the window from opening up. That was a giant pain, but we got it eventually.
Also, don't buy the ledge separately - it comes with the door. And, the screw holes to attach it didn't line up with the windoor because it sits too high on the windowsill. But, I don't need it anyway since there are windowsills."

"The door is attractive, easy to install and very functional. Our problem is that Zoey will not nudge the door open. We will keep working on it until she figures it out because manually letting her in and out 1,000 times a day is not an option."

"My cat is now starting to go outside. When he goes outside he then decides to come back in, or waits till I am doing something to decide to come back in. So it is a constant turn to the door to let him in or out. I am in the military too, so when I am in the field he can now make up his own mind and come and go when he pleases. So great. I put it up and taught him how to use it, which was fun, and he now goes in and out and in and out like crazy. It's great. Cat Independence!"

"Just installed it yesterday and am very impressed with the quality. Having nine of the little darlings, I was concerned it would not hold up, but the Windoor is very well made and because the cats can see through it, it has not intimidated them at all. No more get up to let the cats in/let the cats out. Woohoo"

"I have faux french doors that I couldn't possibly put a pet door in. I thought I was going to have to repalce the doors until I seen this product. What a life saver. My cat and mini dauschund use it with ease. The intall was simple. I haven't had any leaks even while watering directly on the window.
The only thing is I wish they had a cover or something for the insulation(styrofoam) on the outside.
But it was well worth the time and money invested in it."
