Ascetically Appealing...Lacks function.

"It's a good choice for people who want natural looks for their herps, but I have a Bearded Dragon who never used it, a tarantula who never used it, a Ball Python who never used it, and three Leopard Geckos who never used it. It gets dirty quickly and is hard to clean out the crevices and cracks. It looks nice but only holds the purpose of a paperweight or a basking spot but never a hide. I think my fish may use it though."

A Subpar Hide

"I own multiple snakes and have owned about five of this brand of hide. Short term, it does excellent and provides wonderful security and comfort for my reptiles. However, it does not stand up to repeated washings, a necessity for reptile owners. It will crack and come apart in large chunks after about six months. Also, the construction allows plenty of hiding places to pests such as snake mites. And at around 18 dollars a pop, it's simply too expensive to continually replace them. Overall I would recommend this hide to someone who has only one reptile, or someone who is more concerned with the aesthetic value rather than functionality."

Exo Terra Reptile Cave

"This cave is great for reptiles that are nocturnal and looks nice in the habitat. The small works well for leopard geckos, African fat-tailed geckos, and other land dwelling small lizards, snakes, etc. The medium might work better if you have two or more reptiles in a habitat. These are inexpensive, sturdy, easy to clean, and a great item for a reptile. To clean them you can use hot water, or a disinfectant. The hole is a perfect size so that the animal(s) can go in but you can't really see them. Highly recommended!"
