"It's a good choice for people who want natural looks for their herps, but I have a Bearded Dragon who never used it, a tarantula who never used it, a Ball Python who never used it, and three Leopard Geckos who never used it. It gets dirty quickly and is hard to clean out the crevices and cracks. It looks nice but only holds the purpose of a paperweight or a basking spot but never a hide. I think my fish may use it though."

A Subpar Hide

"I own multiple snakes and have owned about five of this brand of hide. Short term, it does excellent and provides wonderful security and comfort for my reptiles. However, it does not stand up to repeated washings, a necessity for reptile owners. It will crack and come apart in large chunks after about six months. Also, the construction allows plenty of hiding places to pests such as snake mites. And at around 18 dollars a pop, it's simply too expensive to continually replace them. Overall I would recommend this hide to someone who has only one reptile, or someone who is more concerned with the aesthetic value rather than functionality."

"This cave is great for reptiles that are nocturnal and looks nice in the habitat. The small works well for leopard geckos, African fat-tailed geckos, and other land dwelling small lizards, snakes, etc. The medium might work better if you have two or more reptiles in a habitat. These are inexpensive, sturdy, easy to clean, and a great item for a reptile. To clean them you can use hot water, or a disinfectant. The hole is a perfect size so that the animal(s) can go in but you can't really see them. Highly recommended!"

"I have a gecko and he sleeps in this thing all the time. doesnt heat up alot from the laps and u can be creative and make a den in the sand. just cover the cave with sand and its like i was never there."

"My snake is about 3 feet long and he fits perfectly in this. Its easy to clean and not that heavy. It also holds the heat from the lamps well too. I keep Dexter, my ball python, in a 20L and this sits nicely on the inside. Great deal!"

"This is an excellent hide. The small size will fit most reptiles, but the bigger one is great for larger ones such as red tail boas, bearded dragons, calotes, and more. This is a really high-quality, cheap, and attractive hide for reptiles."

"Both my leopard gecko's love these hides. They are almost always in them. A secure hiding area is vital to their health and happiness and you should have at least 2 in a tank. One for the cool side and another for the warm side. That way your reptile doesn't have to choose between feeling safe and getting in the right temperature area."

"This product is great. It is durable and easy to clean and keep clean. My Bismark python loves it. He uses it to hide. I will probably need to upgrade to a larger one soon because he is growing. I don't know how he manages to cram inside that thing but he does. The picture I posted is of him coming out. (please excuse the mess, I haven't had time to clean)"

"We have had a Large size cave for our ball python for a year now. He loves it and much prefers it to another brand that we also keep in his 65 gallon tank. He is now about 2 1/2 feet long and about 3 inches in diameter, although he still fits inside, it is time for an Extra Large size. We will stick with this brand as it is durable, does not shift positions and is super easy to clean. It also looks very natural in his enclosure which is a priority for me as his tank is in a promonent place in our home. Just so you know, the Large size is flat on top like the Medium size, but the Extra Large is more dome shaped. Unfortunately, the Lg and ExLg are only in stores."

"I used the smallest version of this cage for a baby leopard gecko. it is very sturdy and creates a secure environment for any critter that would like to hide in caves or crevices. Easy to clean. Some people complain about the small entrance, i like this entrace because it keeps the cave more closed so herps are more comfertable in it.If the door was much bigger it would no longer be a good hiding place."

"This was the first hide away i ever purchased. I got it for my leopard gecko. At first he kind of stayed away from it, but after a couple of days he started to love it. He even crawls on to. Large hase plenty of space. door hole is a little small but other than that its great."
